What is the best header for my set up?

Current mods:

AFE intake
Perrin pulley
Whiteline bushings
Perrin brace

Planned mods:
Resonated Perrin headerback exhaust
FA20club stage 2 tune or Visconti tune
Header

I dont know which header i should get. Which header yields the most power with a tune? There's so many conflicting opinions.

My car is a daily driver and just want the car to have more "poke".

:thanks:

My personal opinion is wait a while until there's plenty of real world use. I've just seen a header dyno'd that made 2/3hp more at peak but was actually down 5-10hp from 4.5-6.5k. You could easily quote that it created a 2hp gain but it would be actually slower than the stock mani..... area under graph > peak power figures ;)

Where do you want more power? Do you have preferences over design/cost/manufacturer?

I'd chose between JDL and Nameless, but that's just my personal preference. Nameless seem to be unbelievably busy, but I'm in no rush. And I like the idea theirs may remove the torque dip.

I may be going down a different route anyway.... removal of 1st cat and intake manifold are options being talked about ;)

More power across the powerband, preferably in mid range, where the torque dip is at. There seems to a general consensus that any aftermarket good quality header will reduce the torque dip. Have a preference for the 4-2-1 design and no preference for cost and manufacturer.

Well, a lot of it will have to be your personal opinion, and what kind of sound you are going for. I went with the RevWorks UEL. They showed good gains on a stock car in the dip area, as well as top end. I am tuned with Ecutek, and I can tell you it feels pretty good with my mods (almost the same as yours). And I havent even revised the tune for the header yet.

how hard was that header install on a 1-5 scale?

With the right tools and a hoist? 2

I did it at night on jack stands, so I gave it a 3. It took longer taking off the million clips and bolts that held the under tray in than it did to do the actuall header itself.

Let me get this straight... You're looking for a new header for your car, but at the same time you are considering getting rid of it?

Which is it?

JDL EL or UEL should be your top choice. The pics in their thread speak for themselves: http://www.ft86club.com/forums/showthread.php?t=21076

The welds, merge collector, and overall craftsmanship is the best available.

They also include flex joints for durability and a lifetime warranty which Rev Works doesn't offer.

I think the OP needs to figure out what he's going to do before sinking more money, or buying more cars he's just going to sell later down the road. :bonk:

our header results and tunes has spoken for them selves. we've tuned almost every product to date so we have a pretty good range of experience as far an results go.

Yeah it's breezy on a hoist. Jack stands, not so much.
