Is it really fair for vendors to be voting on this poll?

Im currently at 10k miles on my P&L kit with zero issues, I'm only running 7lbs of boost atm but I certainly dont baby my car. Im waiting to turn up the boost until I finish up some other things on the car so we'll see how she reacts to that one of these days.

Yes. Oil changes have to be done sooner and you will have the check your oil every time you fill your tank. Well you should always check your oil when you fill your tank.

You really need a poll option that has a square for issue with kit..i.e.fit and finish,..complete,...etc......The Blown engine choice should be thrown out,....as that can be from a bad tune or driver induced,....i.e. not paying attenton to engine vitals.

I can DD my Sti's every day w.o worrying about staring at gauges to make sure my engine isn't going to blow. If the fullblown requires you to watch AFR's and boost maybe there is something wrong with the kit. Driver error can always produce blown engines. But a flawless turbo kit shouldn't require someone to eye ball a gauge 24/7. But if the engine is blown due to shop or w.e it will be discussed. In a month or two i'll make a second post with another poll to see where everyone is at. Hopefully by then someone will be 20k+ and i'll make more options. I do agree with you.

Don't have a Full Blown kit,... but no kit is flawless,...and none of us have a warrantee anymore going FI,....keeping an eye on vitals seems a common sense thing to do , not suggesting 24/7 but most definately more than periodical when running at higher rev ranges,..or,.. any time your seat of the pants gauge tells you something is different .....just my opinion.

That is a ridiculous statement. Any aftermarket turbo kit provider doesn't have multi-million dollar budgets to develop at OEM standards and test in all scenarios all around the world.

If you CHOOSE to modify a car, then due diligence should be done for a) understanding roughly what's going on and b) how to detect a problem early.

Bear in mind that all these turbo kits are just manifolds, turbochargers, intercoolers and some pipework. The main difference is the tune that sits on top, which will either make or break a conversion. The other factor for durability is how the turbocharger lubrication is handled, which differs between the vendors.

This is what some don't understand. These kits are not plug and play and go rev out your car. Also the reason for making this thread. Glad you agree with me good sirs. I'm personally sitting back and letting others be ginny pigs. I do believe that some of these kit's will be solid though. My main concern is in fact the internals. There is no such thing as a high compression engine loving high boost. well for very long at least.

Precisely why I don't have a high compression engine and why I'm running 18psi of boost and looking for more. I have a stage 3 engne forged at 9 to 1,...but the OEM fuel system lacks the volume needed to sustain anything over that with e85 safely....so I'm going to a custum fuel system...

Interesting. Didn't know you had a built block. That changes things good sir! What exactly is lacking in the system? Fuel pump? If thats the case look into radium Eng. They make lots of universal solutions and are also looking for a project car.... You might spark their interests if you have cash to help sway their minds in producing something. It's a local Portland shop that does turbo kits for lotus and BMW and anything looking to go big.... lol

Whats lacking is you reach a point in this engine where the demand exceeds the supply and it leans out, its not so much pressure but volume (E85). As noted this engine wasn't designed for FI. Ultimately in my build I'm looking for reliability in the long term for weekend driving and track duty. My car dyno'ed at 400whp but leans out bad with a 60mph roll on. Others like Don at AP , and the guys at Full Blown know of this issue hence the FA20 fuel rails I'm installing that,... some are confusing as only bling, along with pressure regulator, custom lines and, a return line to tank etc.. And this is with a relatively small GTX2867R turbo. Surge tank and or inline bosch pump may be necessary once we create the volume if the Deatchwerks tank pump can't keep up. We shall see.
