At about 3000 Miles, Engine became quite a bit "smoother"

Has anyone experienced this? I have had my FR-S since May 30th. I have currently 33XX miles on the car. At about 2700-2800 miles, I noticed the car felt noticeably smoother in shifts, the engine revs better(not as coarse) to the point that even my G/F asked "Did you do something different to your car?" I understand that cars tend to break in, but I would assume it would have happened sooner. Just thought I share my thoughts and see if anyone experienced this and to provide feedback.

I feel the exact dame with only 2500km on the car. Seems to be more fluid on the rev band.. Would love to hear more about this

I was thinking the same thing the other day, I also have 33XX miles on my car. This is way smoother than my c5 z06 that was clunky in comparison. Love this car. :happy0180:

It's pretty natural for any car to losen up after a few k. It will continue to do so for the rest of its life. It is only noticeable the first few k though as it is the most significant loosening time.

I'm very glad to hear this! I think i'm going to wait until after 3k miles to figure out what mods I really want in this car after everything has settled in.

I would agree. Our demo vehicle at work has just clocked up 4200kms (2600miles) and has gained a noticeable smoothness in the cog swaps and engine revving.

I also would like to add, I did a oil change myself at 2000 miles just to prove to myself that there is no break in period. Using Mobil 1 0W-20 Advanced Fuel Economy and a dealer factory oil filter. I usually start the car and let it warm up or till the Tachnometer needle drop from 2000 rpm to 1000 rpm during engine start to when I put it into drive. I'm currently running at 2300 miles notice more smoother rev and gear shift. Gas milage seem to be increasing with this Oil just a thought it could be the High Flow Cat front pipe.
