I control DNS for my home office and work office. I'll point ft86club.com over to a yugo forum or something for when I slip up and forget I'm avoiding it.. 30 times a day or so lol

If the pricing is correct, then the Subaru is going to be quite a bit cheaper than I thought it would. Its really making me nervous because I'm wondering what made it to US shores intact. A lot of people are now speculating around $22k for the FRS now, and its hard to imagine that for only $5k more than the Scion (price difference between speculated FRS and the limited model BRZ) not only do you get the SUBARU brand name but you also get fog lights, push button start, spoiler, Navigation, HID headlights w/LED DRL, dual zone automatic climate control, ect.

It just seems extremely unlikely to me.

I beginning to doubt that any of that stuff is going to be in the US market at all; I'll bet that the Subaru is going to be rocking the same ugly manual climate controls that the FRS is.

There are pictures from one of the subaru reviews specifically showing the manual controls on the standard BRZ. I think the dual controls will be on the BRZ limited only in the US, and that is all.

EDIT: This pic here, shows a key, manual controls, etc. He is "supposedly" in a BRZ, as it was part of a BRZ review and test drive. Notice the subaru audio.

^ as has been said this is an orphan picture out of context w/the review. See the side mirror? It's a prototype at best of something from an earlier time.

I think he was talking about the limited, which is $5k more than the Scion (supposedly). It does seem like a lot for just $5k more especially since you also get 17" wheels.

Notice that car still has camo on it, so it is definitely not the production model. I think everything is still up in the air at this point. Hopefully we'll get more solid details in January.

All that you mention is not a lot of money really to include. remember they take something else out to put this stuff in, and manufacturing cost (not your cost) is nominal, so it's not like buying it yourself. I'd estimate $500-$1000 differential at best.

If that is the case, I don't see how the Scion would survive.

As I said $500-1,000 manufacturing cost. To the buyer of the BRZ, the marketplace and the dealers can, and will, charge as much as possible or more... $3K-$4K-$5K .. Some peps want them and so there's real profit money in them there baubles and the dealers love it.

Is Ed Loh's information considered credible? I hope there is a deselect option for the nav. I have a feeling that Scion will try to find every opportunity to keep the base price lower. Whatever they do, I would be happy with Torsen LSD, AC (manual, of course) and a basic streo. Oh, and bumpers with the same with the body color. Steel wheels are fine.

Have they mentioned a torsen diff at all?. I assumed it would just be a economical viscous type lsd. Might be too much to ask to have anything more at its expected price point

Nice price! Wish these prices would be for the Norwegian car market aswell.

26 000$ = 150 000,- NOK (Norwegian kroners.)

And I sent a mail to the Toyota Norway and they havent gotten a price yet, just an estimate.

Which is 450 000,- NOK = Like 78 000$.

Norway is fucked up when it comes to car taxes...

As an example:

Ford Mustang standard model is like 23 000 $ ~ 130 000,- NOK.

Plus taxes = 500 000,- NOK ~ 87 000 $

23 000 + 87 000 = 110 000 $ for a standard Ford Mustang...

Sorry, just had to get out some frustration.

I really want a BRZ or GT 86!!
