Hey guys, frankly I am a complete newbie with no knowledge on anything but I wanted to know if anyone else has had the check engine light and traction control light on with the car doing things like shaking while idling and the car jerking in the downshift from second to first and keep in mind this is an automatic transmission and it is not in sport mode or anything like that and along with those problems it has the worst throttle response on earth and I have taken it into the dealer multiple times and they have replaced the camshaft, which did nothing so they then replaced the ecu and it still didnt help and then they had a guy flown in to check it out and he rewrote some of the programming and it is still having the same problems but it is in the shop right now and they are dropping the engine and taking it apart and possible replacing it. I am literally clueless about what is going on and I really hope someone here knows what on earth is going on. So thanks!

Sorry about the missing periods, and the first time it was in they said it was supposedly an exhaust code. I didn't receive a specific code but it has been in the shop about 7 times and the problems have not been fixed. The terrible thing is that I have driver education with the SCCA and my first autocross meet this weekend so I may end up racing in a stock 2014 Camry rental.

I would also like to say thank you for the guidance about all of this because this is a pretty weird situation. I am hoping these problems will be resolved soon and so, I wanted to know if you guys were aware of a good cost effective way of adding some more power to the car. I recently purchased some Dunlop Derezza zII tires and for the short amount of time I have been able to use them I feel that the difference is like night and day. Thanks again!

1) You said warranty is covering the problem. The problem as in the ECU, the ECU and engine, or just the engine? I am guessing both. 2) Did Toyota/Scion give you a hard time since your car was modded? I know, from what I read in the past, that if the techs can not prove that your mods caused the issue, then your warranty is not voided in any way. I know you had a few mods, but my guess is, none of your mods really contributed to the issue in the first place. 3) You might have already answered this and I missed it, but, is Toyota/Scion going to disassemble your block and let you know exactly what broke? (My guess is probably not, but I figured I would ask anyway). Lastly, thanks for the updates. Glad to see you will be getting your car back by the end of the week

In regards to the car being in the shop 7 times, I would look into your lemon laws. Once you figure out what your rights are, I would ask the dealer to replace the car or at least reimburse you for the time you've spent going back and forth. That may get them thinking a little about what needs to be done. |

I will definitely check into the lemon laws, I got it used and it is still under warranty so I think I could make it work. I also was wondering how uncommon the FRS is in whiteout compared to the other colors it comes in.

That is one of the most popular colors... If not the most popular... The rarest would be hot lava and firestorm.

Is raven also a very common color? I have black OZ superleggera wheels and have the whiteout FRS but I may be getting a replacement FRS because my current one is a complete lemon.

And shes back!! New engine replaced under warranty dealer blamed the car going lean and causing piston failure, all injectors were replaced as a precaution since the o rings could be faulty. It seems a few cars have had injector failure. Now comes the hard part, breaking her in with harnesses, racing buckets, and noisy brakes on the street
