If she was at fault you can claim it on her policy. You do not need a police report to file a claim. I got hit a couple year ago in my employee parking garage and had no issues filing a claim with the other parties insurance. No report was filed we just exchanged info and I took pictures just in case but they never asked for them. Hope you get it fixed soon.

Like others have said you don't have to touch your deductible if she is at fault.

You have a perfect case to make a claim, plus you have her contact information (and thank the cop for making you swap numbers). Call her and tell her you are going to file a claim.

The part & labor will likely be over $500 anyways, so I say go for it. Your rates will not go up for something happening when you were not in the car.

Of course, if she's cute, of age and you are both single.... Talk about your ice breakers

I agree with many people saying you shall claim it, it doesn't cost a cent. Also, do not expect anything fixed up will be 500$. This is a good way to do an estimate about Body work.

1x the Material, and 2x the Labor.

That means, 500-700 for a new Un-Painted bumper, and about 1000-1400 in labor. You are looking around 2k.

Bumper is just over $200 (+shipping I presume)

I work at a body shop, we haven't had a FR-S through yet, but a BRZ rear cover is $269.95 and has 1.5 hours of tech labor and 2.3 for paint according to the insurance computer program. Our shop is $40 an hour for each. Comes out to around $600 depending on tax.

Hardly and if he has to claim it is most probably worth to just pay out of pocket. If it were me I would try to claim on her insurance but if she says he back into her and he says she rear end him they won't be able to determine without witnesses.

If it ain't your fault, why are you paying for it? Unless she is paying you in other ways, i.e. premium oral service, you are a complete doofus for wanting to take care of this yourself.

I'm probably out of place for saying this, but I think it's funny how everyone on the internet is assumed to be a guy. The OP is a lady.

Ok, thanks for the responses. Here are more details.
1. I'm a girl :-)
2. I was backing up, a second from putting it in drive, and she comes plowing around the corner (in the wrong lane) and hit me. She obviously tried to serve, cause her damage is right before her driver rear tire (see pic)
3. This happened at CVS. There is a camera that hopefully will show what happened.
4. We have the same insurance, so the adjusters will fight out who is at fault.
5. I work in the same building as the girls mom, I see her everyday. Hopefully if for some reason it comes back as my fault, they won't claim anything cause its minimal damage on her car.
6. I understand many of you will say "you were backing up so its your fault"... I'm not on here to argue my point, but I will say this. The parking lot is L shaped. It was clear of vehicles from my perspective when I was backing up (there was a truck parked on the left side of me), and considering she hit the rear passenger side, that proves that I was just about out of the parking spot. Had she been traveling in her correct lane while on the curve in the parking, she would not have hit me. Also had she not been speeding, she wouldn't have hit me.
