OK.. so call me a conspiracy theorist here or just call me someone with enough critical thinking skills to not believe something posted and reposted on blogs with zero actual news sources cited.

But here are two links - one from the rescue organization

http://www.nsri.org.za/2013/04/missi...ound-deceased/

And another from a South African news station: (notice the picture of the recovered vehicle and the vague similarity in the story vs the blog post)

I'll let you draw (or photoshop) your own conclusions....

I'm amazed how intact the car is after that trip, though. Like someone said, the car tried it's best to keep the driver alive here. After seeing all the crashes I'm amazed at the impact the car can take. Just too bad the lumps inside can't take quite as much....

Confused here: OP post a red car. Link to news article refers to a white car.

That's my point - OP posted a link and photos from a blog. Since I don't believe most of what I read on "the internet" I tried to find some credible source for this story and could not.

What I did find (the links I posted) was a story that seemed remarkably similar that had nothing to do with a GT86 as far as I could tell.

Please keep your conspiracy theories to yourself. This was a tragic accident. There is no doubt that a GT86 went over the edge at Dappat se Gat, there is also no doubt that the occupant died, and I think that your comments are uncalled for and inappropriate.

Yeah that's right blame the machine instead of the person driving it. STUPID!!!!!! That's like blaming video games for mass shootings.

No doubt huh? so if it's posted on a blog, it's true?

Post one single link from any, even remotely official source or news organization and I'll never post on this forum again. (and I don't consider zero2turbo.com a news gathering organization)

Did I say people dying in accidents makes me happy? No. I simply questioned whether or not the story as re-posted from that blog was accurate.

I think people posting second hand speculation or hearsay is uncalled for and inappropriate..

the 2nd link to the news site just has a stock photo next to the article that has nothing to do with the actual incident reported. So much for a conspiracy theory... i suggest next time you rather try to find the original source rather than questioning things b/c some junior 'journalist' on a sensationalist website wrote a sloppy article.

the pics in the OP were taken by a friend of a forum member - they are real.
