still cant understand why take VF37 instead of ~same turbo, but ball-bearing (VF36 from Spec C)
you'd spool 300-350 rpm faster |

THe only thing I can think of is that it is tuned for corner exit, hence my comment about tight tracks (maybe AutoX?) and big rear tires. |

That's a nice curve. But it makes me nervous of the compromises made to put that down to the ground. Big tires, stiff clutch... Could be a great street car... but I doubt it. This is a track monster.

Worried as well because it looks like it would not be street able.

I like that power curve. From 5k to 8k it would be very predictable on track...and that's where you'd be in the power band all day long.

What I do know is that judging on that dyno graph, the majority of the punch is in the midrange. That tells me it's set up for corner exit, not say, drag racing or power-tracks with long straights. |

For comparison, here is my E85 dyno from my personal Evo IX. This turbo is pretty much maxed out on my setup, but it gives me a great power curve and decent spool up. This is on a mustang dyno, which would be approximately 630whp on a Dynojet.

It's the curve from a turbo which is maxed out. A VF37 is not a large turbo at all so it looks like your typical STI power curve.
The power they are making out of it though is pretty awesome, they had another plot with it compared to a STI with a GT30R and it was making about the same amount of HP and more TQ. I guess my only concern is the turbo is so small the onset of boost/TQ may make the car a bit hard to handle. It would be like an on/off switch. It's a ton of fun in an AWD car but RWD will take a little finesse. |
