Thank you Alex! Lance definitely pushes me to the limit. Every time I come to Milwaukee the pressure and competition feels like I am at Nationals. I love our region and the awesome talent! We have had some epic battles for sure.

thanks..
no.. Z2's..trying to make a educated guess as to which is faster.. seems like the RX8's at Dover were on BFG's.. and the fastest STR time was on Dunlops..I like the contingency program that the BFG offers.. we'll see as the Z2's wear if they get faster like the old ones did.. so far about 40 runs on the Z2's.. from Evo school/ Dixie and yesterday.. Bill

I know my gas mileage has dropped about 2 MPG between the Rivals at full tread depth and my Z1's at 4/32nd's front and 3/32nd's rear. I was thinking that was most likely due to me being in the harder compound on the Z1 and less rolling resistance. |

1st heat is never ideal conditions. But this is the 3rd time in the not so distant past I've run 1st heat and was fine. Blytheville Shootout when it was cold as hell last fall, Dixie, and now Dover. The worst I indexed for any of those was 9th---on A6's.
I sit back and chuckle over this street tire arguing, the fact is there is a much bigger war on there than anywhere, and what's worse there is no tire with a clear advantage. I've not driven every tire on every car. But I have driven every one of the "street" tires except the RE11A, and a lot of cars, and I have my preferences. |

Did you have a co-driver, a.k.a tire warmer? Do you use tire blankets?

For those who have Rival and/or RE-11A (or RE-11) experience, which do you prefer for DD and autocross use on sometimes wet pavement like we get here in the Pacific Northwest?
Tirerack data shows the RE-11A to be the best wet tire in it's category, but doesn't have test results posted for the Rival. Comparing tread patterns makes the RE-!!'s look potentially better for channeling water away but compounds make a difference, too. I'm leaning toward the Rivals for their 3 lb. weight advantage over the RE-11's in 225/45-17 size, but will give priority to wet grip. Any advice appreciated, thanks. |

The Rival definitely needs more heat in them than the RE-11. With some heat in them and dry autox conditions, I definitely prefer the Rival. Have not tried the RE-11A. |
