Sounds like we're going to be at a lot of the same events! Nice to see we'll have some heads up competition to benchmark on.

I also swapped wheels so the 4/32 tires are up front. The car now will throttle oversteer at the limit much easier and is just a very slight bit loose for my taste. The toe change definitely has the turn in feeling a bit more lethargic. Found out the Konis are shipping today. Will not have time to get them installed prior to the event this weekend though. Look forward to it! |

This car is meant to be a transition monster and it helps to play to that strength. Ask me about the 4 cone slalom I took yesterday on the rev limiter in second without lifting... |

Totally agree. The first day at Nationals was the more technical/transition intense course. Car felt good and I did well. I very much enjoy slaloms which helps too. The second day the sweeper intense course was painful. |

I felt the stiffer setting on the bar added too much understeer, but my "testing ground" was not very grippy sealed asphalt. I had the endlinks adjusted where the bar was just off the control arm in full droop. There are obviously a lot of other factors in play. This is with 0 toe in front and 1/16" total toe in the rear.
I am using the Strano bar now and it feels right in between the two settings on the WL bar. I may switch back to the WL bar just for the adjustability though, since you can always run the sides at different hole positions. We unfortunately didn't have a test and tune this year before the season, but I'm hoping to get 8 runs in on Sunday to test some things out. |

No, I'm on stock endlinks. I only have a very short amount of time with the car and I'm admittedly not a setup guy, but I believe full stiff is the way to go if you can adapt your driving to it.

The next race at Milwaukee is a completely different surface. Waterloo was really good concrete and Milwaukee is a sealed asphalt lot. Forecast is a few showers and about 10 degrees cooler. |

I was going to go to the Waterloo event to watch but was too lazy. A couple of my friends mentioned there was a BRZ kicking some butt up there.

I should mention I'm on the Hotchkis bar as I was told it was the stiffest available. Full stiff is a bit annoying on corner exit but the times are faster than any other setting on the bar. I'll concede that the softer settings are more enjoyable to drive but my data says it's slower. I can see this being dependent on driving style so YMMV.

Looks like we're having similar success. I'm really looking forward to running with you in Lincoln! Should be a great race! We just have to beat the damned mx5's haha.

Great result. Whose car was Colin driving? I saw Chris Bailey was registered in STX but his car said Miata, I am assuming it was his car?

Alex Manrique: This is my car. it has a decent start but still needs some key things. so far it has things like coilovers, camber plates, strut tower bar, front sway bar, rims, tires, intake, most of the exhaust, crank pulley. big things missing still are header and ecu tune. I haven't really done anything as far as weight reduction yet either besides exhaust. also I'm sure an aftermarket diff wouldn't hurt it either but the stock torsion seems to work pretty well. Looking forward to finishing the prep on my car and an event with consistent track conditions. Hoping to make the WAI event in a couple of weeks. |
