The axlebacks also now have larger diameter piping for the secondary circuits, so the larger mufflers are to quiet the noise gained from that. It should be very similar in volume to the shorter length muffler axlebacks they originally designed. That's straight from Jason based on the several queries I made regarding the move to longer mufflers.

Perrin resonated will give the perfect blend. Quiet around town, loud enough when you want to have some fun

I have a Perrin resonated catback installed, and on a cold start, it can still set off my coworker's car alarm. After that, idle is quiet. It just sounds so good when you're flooring it.

Perrin+UEL sounds nice but for that true boxer burble I think you have to go single back instead of duel. Or at least that's my thinking, it just doesn't have the same rumble as my fxt.

Now if they would only make a rear diffuser with a single exhaust cutout

The new sti/wrx is dual and sounds right.

I prefer to buy American when the quality/price proposition is right. However, to say that American made == quality and foreign == crap is asinine. Cnc machines work just as well in South Korea as they do in South Carolina. In fact, the last American machine shop I worked in (years ago) was using all South Korean (daewoo) machines. They have workers with the same level of skill you'll find anywhere else, even here. Tig welding is not uniquely American.

Now, if you have an issue with said part, you'll be glad to have kept your money local. That's why I prefer to buy American. Not because we're innately superior manufacturers of things, but because its more convenient when things don't go to plan, and it puts food on your neighbor's table.

Either way the UEL+ perrin doesn't give it the growl I'm looking for, and do note this is not from you tube videos this is from me having the perrin+UEL for about 3 weeks now. The perrin is nice dont get me wrong but going with my titanium single cat-back(see link below) I'll be saving 30~ lbs... And hopefuls it gets me closer to the growl I'm looking for.

I'm just assuming. That's awesome though, I'd like to see the lb comparisons between your new exhaust and Perrin. The Perrin is already considerably lighter than stock.

I have a thing for symmetry on my the front and rear of cars. Single exhaust drives me nuts.

I don't know that a single will change anything too much though.

That's actually false it's heavier then stock, not by much though, and it is worth the sound you get, but like I said I'm on a search for a certain rumble and if the new single back doesn't give it to me I'll be searching for a new replacement for the borla.

Single to dual changes the way the frequency hits the second bend, causing your frequencys to actually come out each pipe at a different time, so a very slight bending, like in the shower when a hot or cold burst is coming up the pipe you can here the frequency shift before the water comes, therefore you can dodge the spray... First time the girl saw me dodge the water she thought I was nuts, then she got hit by the cold spray and I was laughing.
