Everyone is correct. You find one nice neighborhood then next door it can be a war zone.

Dang so this place is like the second highest and third highest crime rate if I am looking at this right.

The worst part of that map is really close to asu. Pretty much north of the 60 freeway. Part by you should be fine its in a more business area. Just do what most people do, if the part of town looks rough during the day. Just avoid driving through it at night.

in the tempe area, areas in high crime typically dont mean they are a threat to human life. We have LOOOOTS of petty crime. Meaning your car will get broken into and dumb shit will be stolen. Maaaaaybe your home will be broken into, but I highly doubt it.

Phoenix is typically safe enough if you arent a child or small woman. I have always had a secure garage to store my car in since Im paranoid of having it broken into. I also dont stow anything remotely valuable in the car while Im not in it.

Over 11 years in phoenix/tempe Ive had 5 car windows smashed and 2 stereos stolen. However, out of 3 Mazda Miatas I never had a single one of those broken into, go figure-- never even kept the doors locked since its a rag top.

Don't scare the poor kid... lol I can't think of a single place in town i wont drive through at night. Anywhere in the valley! Walking on the other hand? as i listed above i would question it but it wouldn't be that big of a deal. All in all tempe really isn't that bad of an area. Its always just petty shit and college kids breaking into other college kids cars. I wouldn't worry about it.

I park my car outside every night and i don't even think about it. I just dont leave anything at all in my car and make sure its perfectly clear that there is nothing they will get by breaking into my car.

Thanks...i really am not worried about me. My windows are tinted so they can't see much. I don't ever keep anything in there anyways.

Hooray!!!!! Autox at Marana on the 28th. Nice big lot for long runs.

I know there are a crapload of you sporting around in one of the twins who think the car is fun, but autox is a whole new world. Come and learn to drive your twin at 10/10ths in a safe controlled environment.

Marana is just north of Tucson and just a little south of Phoenix.

Hey I got my TechStream cable in today. If anyone needs any settings changed on your car let me know. So far I have done the following

-Disabled DRL's
-Turned up the alarm chirp
-Disabled the passenger seatbelt reminder, which hopefully resolves the charging cell phone on the passenger seat issue
-Disabled the auto lock on the car

Thread I started is here

http://www.ft86club.com/forums/showthread.php?t=34502

Yes you can get this done at the dealer but we can do this at the pavilions. There are some settings for the BRZ that are specific like the auto light function and the ambient AC temperature that I would like to try out if anyone wants to try.

Is there any way to remove the chime that sounds with the keys in the ignition and the door open?

Alarm chirp... so i can actually hear if i locked my car now? And i thought i was crazy and alone in the world with the fact that i cannot put my cell phone or my sidearm in my passenger seat without my car beeping non stop (i tried for thirty minutes once). Yet i can put my macbook in the passenger seat and it doesn't beep. lol
