I like the idea you are going with there, and the fact that it flares up on the side.

Looks very promising so far. Auto speed has some good articles on how measure the effectiveness of the difuser. I think they mentioned using string potentiometers like you said. You can also measure air pressure using a digital pressure gauge. I ordered a Pyle PDMM01 for $65 and I think it should work fine. I'll try to get some measurements with my nameless axle back this week.

Wow that design is very clean. Is there anyway to make our diffuser with round exhaust holes that just countinue the stock lines instead of the squared off look? It looks pretty tacted on like that. It works for the wrx because its a quad tip design with a rectangular hole stock.

initial drawings are great. that basically what i had in mind. i'm all for canards on the side, because if there is no canard than atleast it has to be thick enough to be seen from a side profile to sort of continue so that those of us with add on skirts or ETC it will flow. keep the ideas coming fellas, and keep adding to the list.

Yes Ivan I had been waiting for a mod to confirm my account so I could
Post. Ok so onto the design. The only Problem I see with using the half round cutouts under the exhaust is the functionality of it. From everything I have read, the vertical planes and fins are what slows the air down and makes the air swirl and integrate with the air coming off the top of the car. In respect to the design of the cutout outs below the exhaust tips it's a trade off between look and functionally, and lot of people want function. Keep on mind it is only a drawing an the deepens of the cutouts slow the exhaust tips may be dramatized in the drawing where as in the mock up they may be smaller. |
