Rear Diffuser.
a buddy of mine is currently finishing a diffuser for the 2011+wrx/sti sedan, it is going to the Molding process now as it's finished in design.
he asked me about a rear diffuser for out car that i've been bugging him about and i need suggestions, and most important need a list of people interested because he will not make it if it will not sell. here is what he did for the wrx(scroll through the thread): http://forums.nasioc.com/forums/show....php?t=2439013 so i'm thinking something along the lines of a spoon rear diffuser? ![]() or is that too much? here is the varis diffuser for the STi's. that kind of desiging would also look great i think (not CF though). post in here with ideas, i personally HATE the oem looking snowboard diffuser. this will be functional, and it will not cost an arm and a leg like the over priced JDM stuff. so lets get a rolling list going, copy and past yourselves to keep updated. feel free to post idea's and drawing in here. i'm thinking it would be more like the hatch varis diffuser, because that will form fit the brz rear. that version select piece doesn't do much for me to be honest....just looks MEH.

I would possibly but i would also have to see a design first.
I like the ChargeSpeed one but it needs more of an aggressive look.

That design also utilizes the muffler as part of the diffuser.

that looks just like the OEM one. to me it just looks half assed, like someone just took a snowboard and mounted it. its too narrow, and just looks weird to me. granted it does take the OEM muffler into account, most of us are no longer stock.
this thread is also to gauge what every one wants. so input for a design would be nice. i'm going to try to draw somethings up tonight, but please comment in here on what you'd like. not just i'll wait for a design because then if you dont like it, and had no input then what can we do to help that? |

Pending what it looks like/functions I'd be interested. Needs to at LEAST cover the exhaust. Shouldn't have to go all the way to the differential based on what I've heard from some other sources, but I want to see a mostly covered rear with cutouts suspension movement as that's simpler than say a design that incorporates a flex area for suspension movement.
The Varis one looks like it's on the right path, but I'm interested in something like the Corkspeed MS3 diffuser. |
