Only way to find out... I'm down to buy a 2nd set of coilovers, just not kw's for a 3rd time in my life. And they were valved by someone in affiliation with Stance, as the owner did a lot of praising to them.

Edit: I'll order them in about a week or so..

i've been thinking about getting GC coilovers too, but have been also thinking about getting the buddy club racing spec coilovers since evasive is offering them for 1350. anyone care to chime in for a dd-er / weekend warrior? i can handle stiff suspension, just not sure if 9k/7k is ideal for the frs still. i've heard good things about it, but would it be worth shelling out my money for a car that will be taken to the track and occasionally going to drift events?

I'm continuing to research and I hear HSD are very good. Esp for it price. Only bad side I hear is that it's not rebuild-able, but I don't think that matters if I'm DDing the car 95% of the time, with the other 5% just spirited driving.

What do you guys think?

i think the bottom line is that if you plan to drop the car 2", the daily driveability is going to be compromised at this price level. if you can live with a mild drop, there are spring only options that will more than serve that purpose and be much more affordable.

Oh, you can also Build your own set of "Ground Controls"

just get some koni yellows, lowering springs, and adjustable perch. But i would still rather just buy GC

my goal is to get rid of the wheel gap on 18s, so maybe a 1.5-2" drop. unfortunately the buddyclubs only go to 1" anything else i should be looking at around the $1500 mark for a guy who mostly dds but with the occasional canyon/track maybe once a month or something

taking things off a car usually mean that they are used. its quite possible that a new stance set will function better than a used kw. as far as overall quality, i have a hard time believing that a company outsourcing coilovers to some factory in taiwan is going to be able to offer the product, quality control and development of a company that conducts all of its business in the same company. just look at the racing pedigree of the companies (i know everyone has to start somewhere but still). i have never seen a car win a single race on stance coilovers.
Never say never... someone may enter a class with no competitors. Thats how some vendors were advertising XXXXXXX brand coilovers saying that "regional championships were won with the coilovers".

That being said, the same statement could be made about a LOT of brands that are popular on this board...

The rebuild will cost you nearly as much as a new set of coilovers, when you're looking at that price range.

Just sayin.

In your price range? Honestly, just a set of lowering springs. You can buy a used set of OEM shocks for very cheap when your shocks blow out. Suspension geometry correction may be out of budget based on your suspension choices. If you're not doing any spirited driving, you probably wouldn't notice.

haha. im not saying that they will never win. just that i have never seen it. i think these products have a place in the market, but i do feel like they get misrepresented. due to budget, this time around i plan to be on some super cheap non proven options but thats dictated by the cars purpose and budget this time around. i only have a couple hpdes under my belt. if the day comes that i think im faster than my car, i will get some real suspension. until then, the thousand dollars i saved buys a lot of seat time/maintenance.

i think ego gets in the way of a lot of people getting what they want/need and this is how the market responds in order to keep these products around.

So looking into it more I'm going to end up getting Eibach sportlines. But some people are saying I'll need a camber kit and/or some LCAs? What would be good to go with the Eibach sportlines?
