SRT Headerback installed and Dynoed

Hello all, installed a used SRT Headerback yesterday that I bought from another member here. Drove the car home for 20 miles or so, and so far I love the exhaust. The sound is just what I was looking for. Tons of compliments at the shop where I installed it. To me its not annoyingly loud, and I find you can drive it quietly if you want to. I ride a ZX10 that is loud as hell so maybe that is why this is good to me...While going through the gears it rumbles, and cruising you can hear it, but its not as loud as I thought it would be. So far, no complaints, Quality is great, sound is just what I wanted, deep rumble when accelerating, quiet at stops and tolerable when cruising. Smiles the whole way home! Videos dont do this exhaust justice.
On to Dyno numbers, temperature yesterday was 45-50 degrees here in North IL, Dynojet by Speedquest Performance in Waukegan. Never dealt with this guys before, they work on Honda Civics for the most part. They were very cool and seem like they know their stuff. I only had them do a couple runs stock, install the Exhaust and do another couple runs. Happy with their service.
Stock 165.45HP and 132.99TQ.
With SRT Headerback 169.70HP and 138.36TQ.
This was done without resetting, wondering if the reset is needed to gain more?? did not go into this expecting huge gains so 4.25HP and 5.37TQ seemed ok to me. I'm guessing after a reset and a proper tune there is more to be had?? Coming from motorcycles, when I tuned my rides I always did not look for top numbers but usable power throughout the powerband, and a great running engine. The exhaust seemed to increase power throughout so happy there. The car feels a tad bit stronger, but dont know if you can really feel this type of smaller gains, so it might be the sound telling me its faster... regardless I am happy with the mod. looking forward to tuning it properly later. This is the first car I mod, and want to get tuned. Being deep into two wheels, I never thought I would be wanting to mod a car, The FRS changed that. Love this car! Thanks!

if the arf reported on the plots is correct, then yes, a tune will gain you some power for sure. As for the reset.. it depends on what your long term fuel trims looked like at the time you dyno'd. If they were off enough to make a difference in power then you will still need a tune otherwise the trims will likely return after a short while of driving.

Not gonna lie, those gains seem pretty low for a header back. If it were a catback, it'd be ok.

You think something is wrong with the setup? wondering if others gained more with this exhaust. SRT does claim 10hp gains

That's why third party dyno > mfg dyno. They are in the business of selling product. SRT also got blasted on here not too long ago due to some of their practices.

I don't know how much HP people are looking to get out of freeing up the exhaust flow post-header in a 4 cylinder N/A car? I'm guessing about 4-8hp without looking at a dyno. Thanks for sharing the dyno though.

Your AFR seems to be off. Maybe resetting the ECU or getting a tune? I know when I had it the ol' butt dyno made the SRT seem much stronger than with just an intake; that is all subjective and could be more due to sound than anything. I am not sure how many have had a proper dyno session with the SRT, however. Don't believe a manufacturer's number since they could do a bunch to manipulate that (i.e. WORKS drop-in filter they say gets something ridiculous like 30whp...)

Also make sure those three clamps are extremely tight. As in when you think they cannot get any tighter do another half turn.

I dynoed at 175 with SRT HB. I highly doubt my car made 170, stock.

No, with a tune it was 180. I can post the runs if you want to see. I don't have them at work right now, though.

Yeah Im guessing what I got are the more realistic gains. I looked in the SRT thread and saw one other guy had 5hp gains. Im not dissapointed by any means cause I wasnt expecting huge gains from this.

Hix, first off thanks again for the exhaust! It arrived as described, and no damage in shipping. appreciate it!

I will double check the clamps and maybe reset the ecu.
