Perrin catless, non-resonated headerback installed!

So here's the deal,

Two weeks ago, I had my Perrin non resonated catback installed, and it was phenomenal. Noticeable power/torque gain, and it had the deep sound I was looking for. So, I thought to myself, this performs and sounds great, so more exhaust parts should sound and perform even better! So I went ahead and ordered Perrin's catless front pipe and their overpipe.

Just had the front pipe and overpipe installed yesterday morning. Here are my initial impressions of the full catless, non-resonated Perrin headerback system:

1. Even more of a power/torque gain. This is great. Also, it feels like the car revs a little easier too now.

2. Sound. This is where things get a little bit complicated. The primary exhaust note is great. Similar to the non-resonated catback, but a little bit louder. Basically, it's the powerful rumble anyone would hope for when installing a high performance exhaust.

However, there is an unsettling "secondary" noise that happens when you load the throttle, and around 4k rpm that basically sounds like a rattle/rasp. It sounds like it's coming from the back of the car. I knew the catless front pipe would add a little bit of rasp to the system, but I didn't anticipate this unsettling rattle type sound under heavy throttle situations. It's like a whole separate sound from the normal exhaust noises. I had it installed by a reputable shop, and they checked it for leaks, fitment, etc, so I know it's not loose.

My question is, is this annoying noise a "break in" type thing that will go away over time, or is this just the result of removing the OEM front pipe? The OEM front pipe has a small resonator on it, and maybe that little piece is what eliminates this kind of sound? Also, would installing something like the CATTED version of Perrin's front pipe help this situation at all?

Any feedback is greatly appreciated.

Also, at the end of the day, this is really a subjective thing. Overall, I can't say enough good things about Perrin. The build quality/welding/fabrication all look excellent, and their customer service is unbeatable.

Removing resonators will more than likely cause raspy sounds.

It's probably drone. I know some people put sound deadening where the spare tire is. Without being in your car and hearing it for myself I can't really be more helpful

I usually recommend either keeping a catted front pipe or a resonator in the exhaust, eliminating both is asking for rasp/drone.

Nice user title there Nelson!
