Usally starts as soon as I turn the key. Hasn't happened again.
Bit strange. problem in the making. Happend to me aswell with 300miles on it. If it happens again im taking it in to the dealer to have the terminals and battery checked

Not for me. With mine every once and a while I will turn the key and it will just keep trying to start up, almost like when the battery is almost dead and doesn't have enough power to start it. I turn the ignition off, back on again and it fires right up.

I just experienced this start up issue at about 1450km. Cranked the engine for 4-5 seconds but didn't start. Re-cranked for 2-3 seconds after and it started. I don't think it's a battery related issue as the engine turned over strongly. I suspect it has something to do with the fuel and/or ignition system. Either the fuel is not being delivered to the cylinders and/or there is no spark from the spark plugs. Gut feeling tells me it has something to do with the new direct injection system. Maybe the high pressure fuel pump needs priming before turning over the engine although I am not sure if the direct injection is used upon start up.

it happens yo me first time today with 4800km, I have a gt86 and pressed the button, the starter motor start, and normally in 2 seconds engine come on, but this time it has like 6 seconds to try, like there is no fuel on injectors, I don't know how to explain better.

Do you turn the key to the "ACC" position on the ignition and wait a few seconds to let the fuel system prime?

I always wait for my gauge to go all the way up to my set rev limit then all the way back down to 0 before turning the key yes

This has happened to me 5 times since I bought it back in Aug 30th. And I have a feeling if I drove it more I would have experienced a couple more times. (maybe once a month) It has done this in hot, warm, and cold weather. I never brought it into the dealership cuz I know they won't be able to reproduce it. I have the push start button system.

How much fuel is left in the tank when this happens? Does it always occur at roughly the same fuel level, or does it not matter at all?

It seems like it doesn't matter. It happened half tank and full, can't remember when the last time I let the tank go way down.

My car is having similar problems .... Put the key in and turn it for the gauges and BOOM goes dead. I have to reset both terminals and hopefully it will spark up and turn on.... I had the battery checked and alternator and it's fine. He said he thinks it's the alarm system since Toyota put mine in and also auto start and disconnected the security box. I had this removed in hopes of it being fixed and nothing. I'm going to put the viper system in instead of a new battery since it's fine. Please quote me if anyone has any comments or advice
