Hola. I posted this on my previous account... Was wondering if anyone near Tucson has a garage and equipment to help me install my exhaust system. I'd be more than willing to drive to the Phoenix area. I can buy lunch

Fuuuu...
I just stripped a wheel stud and sheared off another ![]() Now that I'm rolling with only four lug nuts on my rear wheels, can anyone make a suggestion as to where I should go to get the studs replaced? I'd do it myself but I don't think I have the tools to... |

I think they are just pressed in. Hammer them out? Replace the new one then tighten the new lug? Otherwise find a cheap press on craigslist and press in the new ones or take the rotor in and pay a shop 10 bucks to press them for you. Did you have them over torqued?

The repair is easy. Pull the wheel, dismount the brake caliper, use a zip tie or wire to suspend it to keep strain off of the brake line or shove the caliper someplace so it isn't hanging. If enough of the lug is left, than a good whack with a ballpeen should do it, otherwise, use a punch. Weasel the broken lug out and weasel the new lug in. Use a bunch of flat washers and a nut to set the lug. Easy-peasy. |

Using a torque-wrench also helps. I was surprised how low the torque on these lugs actually is. I'd bet most anyone putting them back on without a torque wrench is massively over-torquing.
