Every single car I have ever owned has done this.
two ways to solve the non-issue: 1 - turn your air temp knob all the way to the cold/blue side 2 - turn on the air recirculation |

When you consider the outside air is ducting through your engine compartment (which is hot) you're not too likely to get cool air even if your temperature dial is turned all the way down. Hit the button on the left dial to close off outside air and/or turn on the a/c.

you don't even have to turn the fan off, just switch the cold and hot knob and you're good to go. I don't think is an "issue" i see it as free air hehehe... Why waste gas on A/C? |

I've noticed this car even if using the vents on cold air on a semi cold day the air is still hot/warm. Never had this with my civic. Wondering if its due to engine bay design.

My FRS does this too, even with the temp setting all the way in the blue for cold. This definitely is not normal as the air is pretty warm, none of my previous cars did this. Doesn't bother me too much though.

All toyotas do this. Leaving the recirculation button off allows air to come in from outside. If the temperature knob is set to warm, then you get slightly warm air. If it is set to the cold side, then you get cooler air that is closer to the outside temp.
People can't really be this dumb, can they? |

Bunch of whiners. I owned a 66 VW bug with NO vents. If it was hot you opened the little window vent or just rolled down the window if it was really hot. In cold weather you just plain froze your ass.

Putting recirculation on is not a solution, not only will the air become stale, but humidity builds up in the cabin and eventually fogs the windows.

after the car has been running and then off.. the ducts get heated up by the engines heat nearby.. so when you enter the car again and the fan is on or the outside air flows thru the vent.. you feel the heat built up coming thru.. this is not a lexus and is minimal on noise and temp isolation materials.. |

i've noticed this annoying problem too. Never had this on my past two Civics. Post #11 does NOT work. its prolly a design flaw.
