I hear it as well, I believe (and hoping), that it's from the underbody panels and if tightened it will go away.

Try putting your driver window down a bit, and see if it goes away. If not, try the passenger side.

I have the same issue, and the noise goes away when I put the driver side window down. I believe it is tied to the window seal issue (mentioned in another thread). Because the window seal catches on the window and rolls up a bit, there is an inconsistent seal at the back of the window, which causes a fluttering noise.

I'll be applying some silicone spray to the window seal to see if that helps prevent the binding, and will then get rid of the noise.

I noticed it too during our recent trip down to Myrtle Beach--could not figure out what was causing it but when we got back I applied caulk to anything that could move under the car!

Of note...driving on smoother roads in 60 degree weather down south made the BRZ that much more fun. Hope it warms up here soon...but the road in NJ will always be crap.

Crawling down my wet/icy driveway last week my traction control kicked in briefly, then I heard a flapping noise from the front end/engine bay area (sounded like plastic, like a vent fluttering). Lasted maybe a second or two. Pulled her back in the garage and checked for anything loose up there-- couldn't find anything. Took her for a test drive, and pulling out onto the paved road, T/C kicked in and sure enough, flap-flap-flap.
Not related to high speed flapping, I know, just sharing my flapping experience.

That's extremely weird. I also first noticed my flapping on the way to Myrtle Beach.

I found a video somewhere on this forum I think about the inner fender liners in the rear being loose. That was the cause of my flapping noise on the highway. I just wedged some spacers in and it is way better. Now I only hear it a little bit at 85+

The rear splash shield (fender liner) on the pass side of my FR-S was causing a noise like this. I went to my local Home Depot and picked up a handful of 5/16 and 3/8 neoprene (rubber) washers. Pull the clips out one at a time, and slide one of the washers over the plastic clip (I think they're called rivets), then pop it back in place. This fixed the problem for me. I posted this a while ago, so I don't remember the exact number of washers used, but IIRC the larger ones are needed for the clips that also hold the little flap in front of the wheels. In my case, the noise soumded like it was coming from around the rear of the pass side rocker panel while diving. I hope that is of some help.

Edit: The same rubber washers will also work for the undertray rattle if you have it.

Are you all sure it is not the one, the only, the talking and unflappable AFLAP duck:

I had the same thing on my FR-S and when I go home I noticed the plastic tray under the exhaust manifold had come down. Check under the front end. It should tuck up above the front nose piece but will come down if you go too fast.

@ftc~brz I have the same issue on the drivers side, right in my ear! Would be your passenger side as mines RHD.

Had it at the dealers for 6 days and they haven't yet been able to fix it. Let me know if you find the culprit as it is driving me nuts.

I now have full exhaust headers back and it is hella loud in cab, but I can still hear the wind in the car as if the window were slightly open. It's more annoying than the crickets!
I will let you know when I figure it out

Thanks mate, it is REALLY annoying me. Seems to me to be the alignment of the window against the seal as the problem side seems to sit a little different from the good side. Could also be the striker on the door needs moving in a tiny tiny tiny bit.

But, they have been trying this stuff over the last six days. Problem is that it happens to me at over 60mph and that is a half hour road test from my dealership to get to that speed limited. Then back to try something else. 10 hours they reckon they have spent on it so far!

ahh, mine does it around 40 mph and increases in annoyance the faster I go. 50 mph is enough to drive me BANANAS!

As soon as there is no sign of rain here I will start messing with it myself, Thanks for the tid bits to adjust
