I have no problem with how stanced this car is, in a few cases, however far and few between they are, it can look good. Just I would never lower/camber a car this much.
What I have a problem with here are the Porsche-looking wheels. That's just wrong. Besides, this one looked a lot better with the gold 527s he originally had. |

Actually the fad originated from Germany where they have a law that your tires can not stick outside of your fenders so guys started running wider wheels with smaller tires and cambering their cars to get the tires to tuck into the wheel wells to maintain legality. Its been around for wayyy longer than early 2000s Anyways back to topic not my thing but I can appreciate the style though I think this one takes it too far where it looks like it would drive like shit

The real problem I have with this...we will call it style for lack of a better term...is that it reflects on the "car culture", realize that the general public doesn't differentiate between honda's and hyundai's and you will start to get the picture, look a bit deeper and realize that the owner has decreased the stability and safety of the car significantly.
Now when there is a rash of these cars causing property damage and or death to bystanders, since we live in the less and less free USA, there will be laws passed dictating that you cannot adjust suspension geometry outside a prescribed limit and you cannot fit tires that do not match the factory equipment. Why? because some A$$hat had to (knowingly or otherwise) create a "look" (that never even got him laid) that creates a safety issue everytime you get in the car. So when we all have to buy adjustable arms on the black market and you can't find a tire shop willing to mount tires to rims that aren't factory approved...you can thank these superior beings. I'm sorry (not really) but anything that decreases the control-ability of a car or the safety of a car (braking distance goes to shit as does lateral acceleration) is STUPID. I will not respect it I will not issue "props" i will not even listen to the idiot try and justify it. DON'T CARE...you put others at risk because YOU want to FEEL/LOOK cool...cool story bro GDIAF.... |

Actually, from you're perspective, anything that isn't completely safe shouldn't be allowed? No more hot rod culture or low riders ? Or ratted out harleys and everything in between? The problem here is there is no problem, people causing accident are the stupid people and they are into all of the said groups.

Isn't that how it should be? Are you really arguing in favor of sharing the road with whatever manner of unengineered sh!t heap anybody can get to move under it's own power? FLASH BACK TO REALITY>>> I didn't say we should outlaw anything, I simply brought to light the actual ignorance of the mods being highlighted in this thread. If you make modifuckations to your ...whatever... YOU are personally responsible for the damage you could cause to anyone sharing the road with you, fine cool whatever, until someone dies because your tire decided to take the shape originally intended and the bead unseats from your hella stretched fitment loosing all air and all control and you veer into oncoming traffic... but you're cool with that right? because the owner was expressing himself (as an idiot) and freedom of expression...blah blah blah... Everyone is free to be as stupid as they would like to be, at home behind closed doors, but keep bad ideas out of the realm of public safety. It's when societies lack common sense to maintain self control that governments HAVE to step in to write laws to protect people from their own ignorance...Keep it up we will be there soon I'm sure.... |

Anyway, linguistics is besides the point. My point is, regardless of where the fad originated, the American term for it [hellaflush] got named by Bay Areans, not valley girls. __________________ Last edited by switchlanez; 04-15-2013 at 07:06 PM. |
