Installed my warranty replacements yesterday. Packing is much improved; however, one strut had a single chip in the exact same place as the strut it replaced. That particular chip (top of the strut housing at the hood attachment bracket, facing the sky when the hood is up) appears to be a weakness in the coating applied at the manufacturer level. The other chips in my original struts were all due to bracket contact, but seeing the exact same chip on two struts is odd. The coating looks weird on that area anyway when compared to the strut that doesn't have a chip there.

Also, I've noticed some surface rust on the nut/flange of the ball that's inserted into the socket.

Sorry to hear that you're not completely satisfied, man! Sent you a PM.

installed my set today, making some observations....

Great product, works well.

Just before full extension, the hydraulics makes a squeaky noise?
In the process of installing, actually broke two bolts, not sure if USA has same bolt as the aussie ones, but the ones that's used to hold the bottom section down, is actually quite fragile...something to be aware of

I thought Grimmspeed were supplying replacement bolts for the lower mounts because the original bolts are too short and several others had sheared/stripped them off too?

I had to re-use the old bolts and was super careful because I realised there were only a few threads doing the job and really should replace them.

Ask them to send the other bolts because they made it clear they were supplying those bolts now and offered to send them to anyone who didn't get them in the earlier kits.

I got mine before the other bolts were available and can't bring myself to ask them to mail me a couple to replace them. I'll look up the specs and source them locally.

Finally installed mine today. took about 10 minutes. wish it took longer.

looks great, works great.

the nuts had spots of rust, permanent marker took care of this.

all in all 4.5 out of 5 highly recommended but find a better nut supplier.
