does anyone else accidentally press the buttons on the key fob while starting car?

for those of us who do not have push button start (i.e., scion owners), does anyone else accidentally press, or almost press, the buttons on the key fob when turning the keys in the ignition? ahh so annoying, i almost popped the trunk twice now. just seeing if any one else noticed this or is it just me...

and yes, i did search. "key" and "key fob". seriously, it said no matches found.

I have not, but I know what you mean...

I got into the habit of putting my key in the ignition so the buttons are "on top"--away from my thumb when I turn the ignition.

I started doing this on my tC last year and carried it over to the FR-S.

No accidental key-presses yet .

I think I may have once, but from that point forward I just held it differently.
I don't even think about it now.
Watch, I'll probably do it next time. LOL

Yes, I've done it once. After that, I try to put the key in with the buttons facing the other way.

Nope, just you. If I were you I would consider selling the vehicle. That is an issue no owner should have to deal with.

Drive to me and I'll give you $10000 cash for the car.

Never happened to me. Sometimes happens in my pocket. Other keys hitting them I suppose. I like the buttons on the key rather than a separate itemon key ring. Overall less to carry.

No, not yet but I can see how it could happen. I guess it just depends on the individual persons habits when it comes to manipulating the ignition key. Perhaps difficult to explain but I don't hold the key between my thumb and first finger. After I put the key in the ignition I press up on the edge of the key nearest me and press down on the edge of the key that is furthest from me.

Yep. Everytime I start the car, I'm consciously trying to avoid the buttons now.

Yep. I can feel my thumb applying pressure to the indented buttons on the key when I'm cranking the ignition.

Happens in my pocket quite often, but, I have a lot of stuff in my pockets in the winter.

I've never thought of that when starting up my car. Must be subconscious. I guess I avoid the buttons by holding the sides of the key when I turn the ignition.
