I am interested in getting the Perrin CAI + tube combo. Would you say this is worth the money over other CAI's? I haven't heard much about Perrin. The other CAI I am considering is the AEM. Let me know if you can, thanks!

Well worth it. Great sound, great response, and looks wonderful. The FA20club CAI is very similar and can be had for cheaper, but the Perrin is coated already.

Great! I agree, it does look nice and its placement seems to be the most logical amongst the rest of the CAI manufacturers. I know gains on a CAI aren't always greatly achieved however did you notice the 5-11 horsepower increase that they claim? I live in California, 86 ft above sea level (if that makes any real difference).

If you eliminate the snorkel, the one that runs from your airbox into the front bumper cover, you will draw in air that may not be the coolest/densest air. That is you may draw in warm air from the engine bay and warm air = less dense = less power. |

As someone else has said, the reason you buy an aftermarket CAI is for bling. None of the CAIs offer value for money IMO, especially the Perrin. That's not to say I dislike it And again, the AEM just seems like a waste too as it's basically a replacement stock box and a different filter.

A link for you. All I could find was a link to a vendors page but it gives you an idea.

So realizing it is "subjective" it seems that if a poll were made would I be correct in assuming MOST are in fact eliminating the sound generator to the cabin? Has anyone done any interior DB testing to know how much less noise etc this changed inside the cabin when eliminating the noise generator? To me it makes sense to have as little noise as possible artificially introduced to cabin, but hey I don't own the car "yet". Learning alot here...
I do like as others have stated from a "looks" perspective how a CAI like Injen, and Greddy etc clean it up, the Injen version "looks good" but sounds to be that is about it? lol.... I also now know that doing a tube and good quality filter does same if not more. What I do not know is if I were to get the Zeta or AVO tube if I should be going with or without the stock/noise generator option cause I honestly do not know how much actually noise introduction there is from this part....? |

I would say that the noise generator/sound resonator option is strictly personal preference for some "ear candy" (maybe not the best term lol...).
