Should of did a Poll.

I feel like 50% have Drop In/Inlet Combo, and the rest is Injen, Perrin, OR FA20

Overall, I'm really liking it. If what everyone has been saying is true, the stock system is well designed and a drop-in should do you just about as good as any intake system would. Sure you could squeeze out a bit more with a true CAI, but the drop-in probably gets you 80% of they can but only costs around $50. So if I had to do this all over again, I'd just go for a drop-in and call it a day. Save your money for other mods that will net better gains.

The best part of a inlet tube is the Sound Genarator delete. worth the 120 I paid for perrin.

Unless I missed reading it, any reason no one is using the AFE Takeda CAIS like this one?

It was quite popular but as it was one of the earlier systems I think it may have been eclipsed by newer intakes. That's not to say it's bad, I personally quite like the AFE.

It's funny how things get forgotten over time..... Crank pulleys were all the rage when they 1st appeared, hardly ever mentioned any more.

IDK but to me it looks like you could get the same effect from the stock intake by deleting the resonator and putting in a high flow air filter.

I just went with silicone inlet and drop in filter for 1/3rd the price.

I feel like manufacturer advertised gains are fudged to show MOAR HP then is realistic.

There is power to be had, but nothing that a high flow filter can't achieve. Maybe I'm wrong, but 200 dollars for 2 hp isn't worth it to me at this point.

I use the oiled version of the aFe.

As others have stated, there aren't a lot of gains to be had with our car's intake. Just get a performance drop-in filter and call it a day.

If you are more interested in the sound, then by all means, go aftermarket CAI (so long as you don't actually end up losing HP). But at around $300 for a few HP that may just get negated by a proper tune, it's not a very good price:performance option.

Further, once forced induction is considered as an option, an aftermarket CAI becomes a waste since you're going to replace it with whatever your FI choice requires.

Great info! You guys are money savers, appreciate the solid advice, ill need to source out options. Since things for options seem to change daily for this car on who's offering stuff what at moment is a known quality proven drop in high flow replacement filter?

Thx again for all your suggestions and conversation on the topic!

Shawn

I can tell you I went with the Zeta performance silicone inlet tube because it keeps the stock resonator and snorkel on your intake. I like the idea of keeping them on.

I also went with the K&N drop in filter.

If you PM them on this forum they can get you a quote for the best deal.

Also, you have to keep in mind the filter might help mitigate some future costs of replacing the air filter. May not completely pay for itself, but its still saving you a few dollars way down the road.

Lol, I just ordered my Perrin Crank Pulley today. Not so much for the performance side as looking nice next to my Perrin CAI.

what are some difference after you installed the Zeta performance silicone? just the look of it or does it improve on performance?
