It's funny how things get forgotten over time..... Crank pulleys were all the rage when they 1st appeared, hardly ever mentioned any more.

I just went with silicone inlet and drop in filter for 1/3rd the price.
I feel like manufacturer advertised gains are fudged to show MOAR HP then is realistic. There is power to be had, but nothing that a high flow filter can't achieve. Maybe I'm wrong, but 200 dollars for 2 hp isn't worth it to me at this point.

As others have stated, there aren't a lot of gains to be had with our car's intake. Just get a performance drop-in filter and call it a day. If you are more interested in the sound, then by all means, go aftermarket CAI (so long as you don't actually end up losing HP). But at around $300 for a few HP that may just get negated by a proper tune, it's not a very good price:performance option. Further, once forced induction is considered as an option, an aftermarket CAI becomes a waste since you're going to replace it with whatever your FI choice requires. |

Great info! You guys are money savers, appreciate the solid advice, ill need to source out options. Since things for options seem to change daily for this car on who's offering stuff what at moment is a known quality proven drop in high flow replacement filter?
Thx again for all your suggestions and conversation on the topic! Shawn |

I also went with the K&N drop in filter. If you PM them on this forum they can get you a quote for the best deal. Also, you have to keep in mind the filter might help mitigate some future costs of replacing the air filter. May not completely pay for itself, but its still saving you a few dollars way down the road.
