Not sure if it's been brought up already but I found that TRD applied for some kind of CARB exemption. They wouldn't do this just to get the intake on the celebrity race cars, it seems to me that this intake will be out for the masses real soon.

I'm just wondering if they really have them in stock yet or not. Guess we'll see.

Don't know if that applied for older stuff too, but I had the TRD intake on my old tC and had no questions servicing or smogging it. One of the benefits people seem to gloss over with TRD products, is the other thing you are paying for is discreteness. People don't ask questions or hassle you when it's got a Toyota/TRD logo on it. Here in lovely California, that's a big plus.

An added observation: Some people who own a CAI with a *rigid* tube feeding onto the throttle body have had CEL issues. I suspect this is due to imroper installation at the couplings partly due to the rigid tube. I told one of my friends who had this problem to double check and fix their couplings; the problem went away. The accordion design mitigates this potential issue.

We should start some MAF reading data base of all intake as many have ecutek cable it should be easy to make some log's comparing to their OEM airbox.
I am game. I will throw up a MAF reading for stock intake\filter and stock intake\aEf filter.

I can't wait till somebody get this TRD box and dyno's it or Ecutek MAF's it...

They're in stock. I should have mine on the 4th. I should be able to log a MAF ready immediately.

Ok, I am going to hold off buying the Perrin intake tube with the perrin filter (was going to stick with the stock box) till I hear more good or bad stuff about the TRD box.

Stiffer engine mounts would likely alleviate problems with hard tubes as well. As with anything, connections must always be double and triple checked regardless.

Where are you guys ordering from/what price/got a part number?

Edit: Here's what my local dealer told me. The part number pulls up no results when querying the online Toyota parts websites (where it's usually the cheapest).

Part: PTR03-18130
List: $425
Dealer Price: $382.50

The ebay link from the other thread. Pardon my laziness for not linking to it. Just search it on ebay and it'll come up from Garrick Toyota I believe.
