I can't believe that Scion can produce this special edition, but it can't seem to supply accessories like the armrest and all the other stuff that they sell in Japan. Annoying.

They need to price it in a way such that the cost of adding the *important* extras (HID, touchscreen nav, push button start, dual climate control) on your own will cost more than getting all these in this package. Cost of silver paint + glow-in-the-dark shift knob + lit emblems < cost of heated leather/Alcantara seats + fog lights. Those are the main differences between this and the BRZ Limited so it HAS to be priced below a BRZ Limited to sell.
The BRZ Premium is wingless with manual climate controls and this has auto climate and a spoiler so pricing it between the BRZ Premium and Limited would be reasonable. Then those gimmicky illuminated things can be considered free extras that can be switched off/swapped out. But seriously, Scion had an opportunity to hit a home run with our crowd if they simply replaced those gimmicks with fogs and/or leather/Alcantara seats. This car sells to our type of enthusiast; not the xA/xB customization crowd. Scion's idiotic marketing department is either still stuck in 2003 or failed to realize that the FR-S target audience =/= xB, tC, xD, iQ target audience.

It looks cool and I would buy one if I did not already have a 2013.
I noticed the majority of this thread is dudes justifying there purchase and hating on anything new. It is great this model has earned a limited edition in it's second year. Whatever the extras are they are worth it to me. |

I think he was being sarcastic. Pointing out 2,500 is not an even distribution of 10,000 units among 5 models.
Edit: Nevermind I guess he did make a math error. But still, 2000 would be an even split unless the FR-S is a hotter seller than other Scions.

June is when I'm looking to buy my FR-S and I thought this would be awesome. But silver? Blech. Every other car on the road is silver. It is the colour of boredom. |

I am just surprised that people are excited about this. Really? Minimum, I am betting this is going to cost $2K extra. Then you end up with glowy badges and a glowy knob. I guess that push start and HID/LED are just so cool that they make it worth the extra cash. I view them as gimmicks. $2K should buy you a better tune and better tires. Just my opinion.

While I added HID to my car and was shocked that the car doesn't offer this option like they did for the Celica, OEM holds a value better than the DIY option.
