Oh wow, so you're breaking traction with real life tires.
Are you on any kind of ecutek tune currently? What other mods do you currently have?

Stock tune, thats what I told NX I would test. Wanted to see how much room in stock tune there was for the use of nitrous. Every platform is different so as of right now the 50shot I would consider a bolt-on and go part on stock tune. Only parts I have are a muffler delete, perrin intake/filter, crank pulley and this nitrous kit.

Hopefully by end of this week, I will try both time permits me for I get three pulls. Stock,50 an 75. Only thing is to change the fuel jet with this kit you need to pull fuel pump fuse and let car idle so pressure drops. Most kits the nozzel with jets are after the solenoid.

I'll be pretty pumped if we see safe AFR's with this kit and no tune.
And I would imagine [hopefully], that some of our trusty ecutek tuners can optimize for the best power output within safe limits. Excited to see your dyno results. I'm warming to the idea of a nitrous setup, the instant (& massive) torque increase is hard to argue against. Car should run about on par with, say, a no frills AVO base turbo setup, at <1/2 the cost. Not to mention, it's an easier setup to 100% reverse.

Yeah, I would get a digital one not one that takes pills though. MSD makes a solid digital window switch http://www.msdignition.com/Products/...ow_Switch.aspx Or, since you have an NX kit it looks like they offer a similar alternative http://www.nitrousexpress.com/18959-...-required.html Quote:
I can't imagine a push button setup being very consistent either in the lower gears when you have to deal with steering and shifting while also holding down the button. |

Yea I never ran a push button setup either in the past, this electronic wot switch seems to be ideal, has l.e.d that pretty much tells you whats going on.

This looks interesting. Very curious to see AFR numbers.
I'd like to see a comparison between using the plate kit vs a universal kit like a proton. Would a progressive controller be over kill with a 50 shot? I commute farther then I'd like to admit so a kit like this that doesn't effect daily usage is a great option compared to FI. Last edited by mrk1; 03-28-2013 at 07:36 PM. |

Checked out their website and the price on this kit was incredibly appealing. Any news on how high one can safely go before needing a tune?

I will make a video, I apologize for I ordered a wideband and a custom gauge pod so I want that installed to show people the afr's. I currently have #.039 nitroust jet in with a .021 fuel wich is good for 65-68 shot via a little nitrous math. Car hasn't had any issues. I have a feeling it will take a 75 but with nitrous trq is much more than hp. I picked jets that would get me 220/220 till I get on dyno and see exactly wats going on. Main goal is to progress a 100shot with a tune just work schedual/needing babysitter/dyno 2hrs away all working against me.

So just out of curiosity, since I've never dealt with a nitrous car before... is a purge kit necessary or just for getting a quicker response from the gas? Also does anyone know if NX's remote opener also closes the bottle? Much appreciate having my eyes opened to this wonderful form of FI!

Purge helps remove any air from line, needed not a must. Yes the bottle opener will close as well.

how much does a setup like this with the window switch, heater, bottle opener, etc run for? i'm guessing around $2k (no real idea, never had nitrous). if that's the case, it wouldn't take many fill-ups of that bottle to put the total cost of ownership into turbo kit territory. seems like an odd long-term value proposition, though i love the 'cool' factor.
