YES that is exactly what I want, but when are the lights on? Are they on constantly or are they wired to turn on with a switch? Headlights?

I have them on a switch. I really don't think wiring them to your headlights would be a good idea. You won't always want them on. If you do wire them to your headlights, I would definitely recommend putting a switch somewhere so that you can cut the power to your foot well lights. You would just leave the switch on if you want them to work with your head lights.

It receives power directly from the fuse box (which is always powered) so I can leave it on when the car is off. It doesn't consume any power so I can leave it on when the group is parked together at meets and stuff like that. I'm sure you can leave it on for a week and still start the car without any issues.

This isn't really a DIY, but I did make a thread about how I made the switch slot.

To get that panel off, just follow the instructions here.

Did this mod just now and it looks awesome. I tapped into the dsc sport mode light source that way it turns on with interior lights and it's all in that center console and no drilling or visible wires.

I want to add footwell lighting, but only want it to come on when the doors are open, or the dome light is on. Anybody know how I would wire this up?

That basically. Wire it up through the a pillar into the dome light source wire and ground it. Good to go

Well, I don't think it's that simple. The dome light has a delay where it fades off after a certain amount of time. I had my meter on it, and it looks like the ground is on a timer, instead of the power side. So if I tie the footwell lighting to the 12v side and ground it, the lights will be on all the time. I "think" it I tie the footwell lighting in parallel with the bulb in the dome light it will work, but I was wondering if anyone had done this before.
