The motor reved till 8k rpm. Never felt the transmission disengage. Was doing test with it to tonight in first and 2nd gear and never had a issue.
I will do some more test in the next few days. And come back to this.

It's not as noticeable on a low powered car but the transmission simply disengages. To be frank I would be worried about damaging the transmission. -John |

What exactly causes the transmission to disengage? There should be plenty of pressure, so is this a physical limitation? This is interesting.

Definitely interested in meeting up in Joliet. Gives me more time to plan and balance my weekend schedule and more of us can be there to check out the other's cars. |

Maybe this is happening in FI applications to much power and tq for the high rpms making the trans disengage. @Visconti not doubting you by any means. Just trying to gather any documented cases of this as it helps the community and the next person that heads down a simalar path. Maybe @FA20Club.com can chime in as well. They do have a auto as their RnD car.

Got to drive on @FA20Club.com e85 tune this morning. First impressions. Holy shit this is badass. Temp is only around 30 right now so I will test the cold starts out later. Only downside so far is that I had to stop driving on it to go to work.

Cold Starts
It got cold last night. And since I'm doing a treatment of formula v on my race tires I had to park out side. Got into the car this morning was 26 out. Not sure how cold it got last night. But the car fired right up with out any issues. Loving this e85. Still on the first tank trying to flush out any left over unleaded. Then need to get some logs over to Tony. I sent a email letting him know how happy I was and he asked for more logs.. What kind of service is that! Good stuff guys good stuff.
@fa20club.com Still trying to look into the auto trans disengaging @7500 rpms issue which @Visconti brought up. I have not been able to find any info to back that up. Not saying its not out there but I have not seen it. Sent pm's out to the turbo guys with autos and have not heard back.

Update 8k rpm
Update on the 8k rpm issue. In first and 2nd gear I could not notice or feel what it was doing. However in 3rd that was different. 3rd was where I noticed it. The extra 100 rpms is nice and all but this sucks. @Visconti or @FA20Club.com Any idea on why the Trans would just disengage like that? Is there anything is the software that lets you control that stuff? - Jeremy

My gut tells me this is a safety feature of the torque converter to keep trans fluid pressures within a predetermined range but I agree with Visconti that its likely mechanical and not electronic.
I'll do some poking around in the service manual and see what I can come up with. Scott
