Gem, the point of this thread is simple. Get numbers and data. Not just opinions. Based on that data, each individual can make their OWN opinion on how it is needed or not in their particular situation. It doesn't get any simpler than that. I am not asking you to donor your car. There will be plenty of people chiming in. Quote:
It boggles my mind why do you need to make a new thread, on exactly what I am doing. What was your point? I don't want to set specific ranges made up by me (in this case you). I want people to freely come in and post their data so it can be read in one single place and make their own opinion. If you don't like or see the idea unnecessary, just stay out of it. Don't worry, we will figure it out. Last edited by Sportsguy83; 03-06-2013 at 08:04 PM. |

so, no harm done man, I wanted to collect data another way, is that okay?
leave both open I say, hardly a call for moderation, or closing of threads, but you guys are the bosses here so ... or just add a more complex poll to yours perhaps?? I too am interested in collecting the same data as you, different folks go about it different ways ...surely if we can be tolerant of far less useful out threads, the forum can handle my poll! C'mon, you know I have my way of doing things, its not wrong just different. No harm meant Guy! Last edited by Huehuecoyotl; 03-06-2013 at 08:16 PM. |

That is why piss off people here Gem, not everything has to be done your way, nor you need to come into other people's thread to say stuff like "I don't see the point of this thread". The Oil temp information should remain all in the same thread, to make it easier for people to search. Add to this discussion whatever you want, BUT first understand this is not an opinion thread, and second, we want to capture all and any data so that each person makes THEIR OWN opinion based on all test data. I am not going to tell anyone how or why they need an oil cooler, THIS is NOT the thread for that..... |

My Turbo Kit should be installed before the end of the month, so I will start logging temperatures with a TC kit soon.

Got some drag racing data yesterday.
Full Blown Stage 1 Turbo Kit on E85 400+ HP Ambient Temperature 65 F No Oil Cooler, Made 9 quarter mile passes in the 12 second range Oil Temps never went over 212 F I know this isn't near the same abuse as road racing but it is WOT with high HP on the warmest day we've had here so far. Just thought I'd share! |
