1.49% from penfed. However when I was finalizing the purchase at Toyota, the financing lady said she would have also offered me the same rate that penfed did. Guess I should have double checked first!

If you can invest your money at a higher interest rate than the loan, then you are losing money on that deal.

Mine was 3.45%. I have 0 credit.

For those of you with 0 credit, how'd you get approved? I myself have 0 credit as well but with a co -signer around ~650 credit, they're offering me 16% in interest. That's too high.

To all the guys with high interest rates, don't feel bad. My first car, without a stitch of credit was like 14% or some shit. I had the most expensive Tiburon on the planet!

My next car I paid around 5.5% and the BRZ I got for 2.71%, so things get better as you get older. Well, some things do, anyway. Most just get worse!

Bastage, I came to type that too.

I'd say anything 5% and under and assuming you aren't financing more than $15k isn't too bad. More than that and you should be saving for a larger down payment to offset the interest.

The last 2 loans I had were 7.9%(14 years ago, rates were higher for everything) and 4.9%(10 years ago), both at 60 months. The loan amounts were $12500 and $14400 respectively. I also put 30% and 40% down for those cars. There is no way in hell I'd have wanted a higher loan with those rates.

Had I put $4000 less down on the $14400 loan, I would have paid 50% more interest over the 60 months at 4.9%. The higher your interest rate, the more you need to put down. If you can't, then there's always Corollas and Civics.
