I got mine off undamaged, put it on wax paper and filed it with my paperwork and subaru/brz badges. Who knows, maybe it'll find a use at some point and I'll be happy I could recoup $1 of the $99 it cost me!

I'm disappoint son.
Bought my car just this month(March'13). This sticker is really bad. I thought this was an appliqué thin veneer of aluminum that is decorated with silkscreen graphics. Nope! The whole thing is a giant plastic sticker. It has depth and texture, but it's totally synthetic. Ten minutes under a 500 watt halogen shop light. It peeled right off and left no tape residue like a lot of emblems can.
I predict these will be turning to complete garbage once they've heat cycled in the sun a bunch. Mine was bubbling/lifting under the heat of my Shop light, even though I could rest my hand on it. What a joke. I hated it before I took it off the car. After realizing how low rent it is, I'm more annoyed that Subaru forces this stuff on cars/buyers. /rant |

There are so many things that are so completely "right" about this car....I just can't fathom why they would move forward with a sticker/fuel door cover.
For the price, couldn't they have offered at least a real chrome fuel door cover? I was very happy to get my car without one applied; if it had come with it on there, I would have definitely removed. |

I have never really understood the whole chrome fuel door cover, fake or otherwise. If it were up to me the fuel filler would still be behind the license plate or the tail light. The more inconspicuous the better.

Honestly, I think it look terrible and really cheap. For less money you can get a drop in filter and add a couple of hp and get better throttle respone

Just saying "a $79.00 sticker" makes me cringe.
Instead, buy some Mach 5 front and rear LED turn signal lights. You get a cleaner look and upgraded bulbs and you get to keep $10 in your pocket. http://fastwrx.com/ledtusibubrz.html |

199% ugly.
no use and everyone knows it's only a sticker. There should be a law for these kind of things, including dealer free ad stickers. |

Alright, this fake piece is wearing out on me. My wife is going to be missing her hair dryer this weekend. I hope the paint underneath is aokay.

Don't even stress about it. Get it nice and warm, it will start to shink and lift on its own. Use a plastic trim tool, anything flat and plastic. it will peel off just take your time. Almost no residue either. Gook Luck.

I couldn't even wait for the weekend. I commandeered the wife's blow dryer and performed Operation Chrome Rid. The piece came off rather easily with much tugging and cajoling. But then I spent the better part of the hour softening, rubbing and lifting off the generous and hardened glue residue. I have to go slow with some dull tools (fingers) so as to not apply too much elbow strength and dent the door or scratch the paint up. Then it's polish time and it is looking much much better now without the cheesy fake thing.
All I can say I should have done it earlier. |
