All the FI race cars I've ever seen have turbos. WRC were turbos, F1 were turbos even locally at grassroots racing the boosted cars are.... turbos.

Turbos don't just do one thing, they can be designed to fit all types of needs, powerbands, rev limits etc. There's also compounding turbos, bi-turbos, twin turbos etc.

So I'd say... Turbo for just about anything.

The install is very simple, just to name a few, no need to tap the oil pan for oil return and no need to cut the chassis or anything like that.

Did anyone else read this as Bubba from the movie Forrest Gump, when he's talking about all the things you can do with shrimp?

I expect a thorough write up from you sir. I'm leaning more and more toward AVO at this point.

Damnit another turbo car...

I think honestly the turbos are looking like the much better performers. Both FBM & AVO stg1 kits look like they'd be great around a track, and there doesn't look to be much turbo lag.

I'm probably going to go with Vortech or possibly Innovative if they ever release a dyno. My hopes for this car are very modest, and I just want a good boost in power while retaining the "feel" of the stock motor. I also want something very reliable and CARB legal as I live in cali, so that further restricts the options.

So leaning towards Vortech with all things considered. If this wasn't my daily driver, I'd probably go full blown their kit looks awesome

EDIT: I'm also keeping an eye on the Greddy kit, as from what I've heard their kits are usually 50 state legal.

Any kit that replaces the manifold cats will never be CARB legal.

No regrets. The tune isn't even finished and I love this kit. Headroom for upgradability, stock look, and an amazing spool time and torque curve.'

Turbo v. SC is a personal preference and depends on what the purpose of your build is. From what I've seen of the Vortech kit some of the higher boost versions look pretty cool.
Did you notice any issues with the base tune? I noticed you said the tune isn't finished, just wanted to know what you meant.

I believe he meant his car is not done tuning meaning it has not been fine tuned yet by a local tuner in a Dyno.
