I wouldn't doubt a cat back with overpipe and front pipe paired with a drop in filter and inlet tube could be around that if not more.

You can't add total power gains together. 10hp from an exhaust, 5 from an intake doesn't mean 15 together.

Well I guess I'm considering that a tune with the intake stuff and exhaust would be a 15 hp gain from everything.

I have a aem, it is enclosed and draws air from the outside. My butt dyno says i got some gains up top , and i love the sound. Defiantly would recommend.

Why are ppl cheaping out on tunes? Best performance bang for your buck even without any bolt ons. Gotta pay to play. Without a tune, all you I/E mods will be for nothing other than looks and sound. That being said, I love how my Perrin CAI and MXP catback looks!

I wouldn't say that. Yes, a tune makes bolt-ons so much better, but those bolt-ons do help slightly with power.

Yes, slightly as in 4-5hp at the very top end on a dyno....basically useless/unperceivable in real world application

I also know that they do them in both types.
I think you may have that confused. Perrin's inlet tube is 76.2 mm all the way thru and has a smoother bend than AVO.

In my most personal opinion, savvy people should stop buying intakes.

There's literally NO point. If you want noise, get a visconti tune. I promise your car will be screaming louder with his latest tune than with any intake I've heard before.

Take it from someone who has an intake. If I didn't "accidentally" destroy the OEM intake piping behind the front bumper, I would have gone back to stock airbox and called it a day.

If you're itching for change, perrin silicone tube + drop in filter seems like the best way to go.

Just trying to save the good folks of ft86club a few hundred dollars.

WHY has this become a intake bashing thread. Some people enjoy it, and i don't care what you say, a intake and a tune will be better than stock and a tune.

Are you saying that all vendors selling CAI for the 86 are really just pushing marketing hype at us?

Not trolling, as I have been considering getting a CAI and I find these comments that an CAI really makes no difference compared to stock intake very interesting, and potentially money saving if indeed true.
Wonder if there are any Dynos on the forum that show this to be the case.
