Lets see I'm 6'2" and 250lbs and I have not had the same problem as the OP. But it did take me a while before I found the perfect position for me. The seat height is all the way down and only a couple of clicks from being all the way back. And the back of the seat is almost vertical maybe 1 click back. As for the Heel toe question I had to adjust the brake pedal to be even with the gas pedal or at least closer to the height of the gas pedal. After that Heel Toe is not problem.
On a side note when setting your seat position make sure when you are fully pressing the clutch pedal that your leg is not straight. You need your leg bent a bit otherwise in a wreck you could cause yourself some serious damage in a wreck.

Still Working On It
At 6' I'm still working on the best position. My problem is my age and arthritis! So far I'm about two clicks from all the way back, tilted back a couple of clicks also. But I have mine set a bit high so I can see better without having to stretch my neck as far.
This seems to work best so far but almost any position is still quite comfortable, like the car was made for people my age as well. That is until I have to get out. That's pure hell at times!

I’m 6’4 and pretty solid – there’s a thread on here called ‘Tall Drivers’ or something which has heaps of responses from people much taller than myself.
I find that with the seat all the way back and the steering wheel all the way up and out (towards me), I can comfortable shift under the wheel. Something that may help is taking your shoes off? I literally always drive barefoot because I have size 16-17 feet. They just don’t fit on the pedals and when I do drive with shoes on I always bunny hop cause I have no control haha. I let my left foot rest to the left of the clutch on that bit that sticks out you know? Might be different for US cars (I’m in Aus) but let it rest there when not shifting so you’re knee doesn’t have to be straight? Just don’t give up and have a play around for 10 minutes trying everything possible to make it more comfortable!! |
