It's funny how people think I'm trolling.
I'm not.

Good night chaps.

I'm actually excited to see a lot of people buy these things, but I am going to be disappointed when in a few years a lot of non-enthusiasts buy the car because it is cheap and looks sporty, but they get it with an automatic because they have no interest in driving. I stand by that, and I'm totes cool with all of the automatic owners flaming me.

I don't think people who drive automatic transmissions are fat, lazy, stupid Americans who shouldn't be allowed to drive though. That's a pretty damn ignorant thing to say... And I feel bad that I started that entire thing. Being associated with people like that isn't my goal.
Actually, most the reviews barely mention the transmission other than for a few 'checklist' comments. The fun and driver feel derive more from the cockpit design, linear power delivery of the engine, and the handling characteristics of the car. How the car is shifted is really trivial compared to the car's other main characteristics.

It's cool that you bought the automatic, but if you've never heel-toe-downshifted before a corner in the FRS, you're missing out.

The clutch and shifter and really key aspects to how a car feels to me. I guess I just really do not understand automatics.

But really, don't let me stop you from enjoying the car. If you can have fun in it, go for it!

I occasionally see an FR-Ss here (in the KCMO area) and it always feels like a rare sighting. I haven't seen any random BRZs on the road. Just at organized local meets or on our region's facebook group (around 50 strong!). Surprisingly NONE are WRB... mine is the only one in the area (that I'm aware of) so I still feel special.

I have yet to see a dgm BRZ in person. There's a black one, white and wrb blue in the area. Oddly enough I've only seen one FR-S.

I'm guessing you have a DGM BRZ... I haven't seen any in person either. Also notice you drive an SX4. What color and any mods? I have a Crossover.

Ordering a '14 DGM BRZ limited.

2010 SX4 Sportback 6MT, Silver, Debadged, Plastidipped grille badge, Coilovers, Skid plate, Rear Sway, on lightweight 17x8 wrapped in 225/45's that saved 9 lbs. a corner over the stock 17x6.5 205/50's.

Not sitting this low now but you get the idea.

It's a zombie apocolypse. While scavenging for food, you encounter a large herd of hungry undead. Caught off guard, cornered, you run out the back, where you find a sole automobile sitting in the parking lot. Thankfully the doors are unlocked. You get inside, lock the door, and frantically search for the keys. Luckily, as in every tense situation, the previous driver has left them in the sun visor. With a sigh of relief, you put the key in the ignition and turn. The car lurches forward, but doesn't turn over?! You try again. Nothing! Then you see it. There's a third pedal on the floor next to the brakes! "Oh no!!!", you scream. Moments later, as zombies rip through your entrails, you realize, you could have suvived had you had just bothered to learn how to drive a stick...

Fact: People who can't drive manual transmissions get eaten alive by zombies.

Use your brain, drive a manual.

It is a lot harder to text and drive with a MT. Maybe then they would actually pay attention to the road.
it's almost a given that a lot of "slush'' boxes get sold because of this reasoning. not really sure what people are thinking! (hot damn!)

Wow it looks very nicely modded haha good job. I originally wanted the sleeker Sportback but needed an AWD winter warrior (the tinier gas tank on the AWD model sucks though). Here's my 2012 6MT w/ Tech Value Package. I added misc. accessories when I got it in 2011. Just this past month I installed Sparco Terra wheels, white tire letters, and RallyArmor mud flaps. It could use a drop but stock clearance comes in handy for snow. Certain members on this forum like to harshly criticize the BRZ. I just think they have unjustifiably high and "spoiled" expectations. I'm lucky the SX4 "unspoils" my outlook. Driving the SX4 everyday is fun in its own respect but also makes the BRZ feel special in comparison.
