haha I'm sure I will be disappointed if the automatic FRS culturally turns into something like the V6 Mustang from the 90's/early 2000's...

-"Get the BRZ, you NEVER see those!"
-"It's $27k out the door, what'd you expect!"
-"This car would fail if it was rare"
-"Mod it to make it one of a kind"
and of course "Just wait until they speed up production, then you'll see TONS more!"
I have an evo x and brz limited. I still have the only brz around, saw the 6th frs today in the area.

The x is getting more popular around here to, saw a new black one yesterday making about 4 in my town.

It is a marine base though and every time a squadron comes back you will get a flux of the new "cool" car. Good thing is that the marine corps is being pushed to a lower ranking force and lower in numbers so the people that return are usually younger and that is why i am seeing more frs's is because of the pay grade.

I'm actually excited to see a lot of people buy these things, but I am going to be disappointed when in a few years a lot of non-enthusiasts buy the car because it is cheap and looks sporty, but they get it with an automatic because they have no interest in driving. I stand by that, and I'm totes cool with all of the automatic owners flaming me.

I don't think people who drive automatic transmissions are fat, lazy, stupid Americans who shouldn't be allowed to drive though. That's a pretty damn ignorant thing to say... And I feel bad that I started that entire thing. Being associated with people like that isn't my goal.
this is exactly what's gonna happen too! as the car ages ,and gets flipped, all hell is gonna break loose! all the "nitwits" will own 'em,and crash, and burn 'em insurance rates will take off,and the fun, second car image will suffer, because the car will now have a street reputation as a ''home boy" car

This statement is proven 100% incorrect all day, every day.

Besides, do you really think it would benefit the other motorists on the road to put these monkeys in a car with a clutch and a stick? That's just two more things to distract them from their smart phones...and we can't have that shit...

Let's settle this once and for all, shall we?

It's a zombie apocolypse. While scavenging for food, you encounter a large herd of hungry undead. Caught off guard, cornered, you run out the back, where you find a sole automobile sitting in the parking lot. Thankfully the doors are unlocked. You get inside, lock the door, and frantically search for the keys. Luckily, as in every tense situation, the previous driver has left them in the sun visor. With a sigh of relief, you put the key in the ignition and turn. The car lurches forward, but doesn't turn over?! You try again. Nothing! Then you see it. There's a third pedal on the floor next to the brakes! "Oh no!!!", you scream. Moments later, as zombies rip through your entrails, you realize, you could have suvived had you had just bothered to learn how to drive a stick...

Fact: People who can't drive manual transmissions get eaten alive by zombies.

Use your brain, drive a manual.

I'm hoping it takes a long time for this happen, although I'm sure Fast 6 coming out with this car will not help.

It is a lot harder to text and drive with a MT. Maybe then they would actually pay attention to the road.

Because the FR-S is a pure driver's car, it ruins it (for me) to see that a bunch of them out there are automatics. It kind of kills the "cool" and "exclusive" factors, knowing someone who can't drive can roll up next to me in an autotragic FR-S.
Dafuq did I just read?I'm not even gonna unload on this one.

OP: You've just left the honeymoon period. Now it's time to start "your" life with the car and do what ever makes you happy.
