As posted in the stage 2 thread: http://www.ft86club.com/forums/showthread.php?t=27399

Update:

A more polished Stage 2 by Drift Office was completed today. Made some minor changes here and there, and finished up the hardware of Stage 2.

Here is the dyno of the runs made today. It should be noted, this was run on straight from the pump Costco 92 octane (10% ethanol). We left the big wheels and tires on even though it probably costed us a few percentage points on power figures.

A short video of one of the runs today.

[ame="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=u4pwCGinyww"]Stage 2 tuning on the AVO Turbo FR-S - YouTube[/ame]

The tune was totally clean, I'm happily surprised at how well it's running at 8psi. This was on stock injectors, stock fuel pump. What has been changed from Stage 1 is the addition of a 7psi wastegate actuator (with a boost controller), high flow front pipe, 2.5" cross-over pipe, 3bar map sensor. This is all flowing into a 2.5" AVO catback as well.

Looks fine to me....If I can get away with not replacing the pump, injectors and clutch (at least not right away), then that's exactly what I'm looking for.

That's exactly it. The boost can be cranked up to meet the 300whp figure many have, but the clutch, pump, and injectors would need to be replaced at that point.

Even at this power level, some people are probably going to need a clutch. Will depend on driving style and your setup. I'm not running big tires and don't abuse the clutch (no burnouts, etc), so I'm hoping to get away without one for a while.

I'm also hoping to avoid some of the other supporting mods that are needed (or useful) when you start making big power...suspension, driveline mods, oil coolers, fans, etc.

Yeah it will all depend on how you use the power. If you're out clutch kicking/drifting/excessive hooning/etc. then you will eat the clutch up quick. Most people right now are not looking to tear in that much on a new car.

Possibly - I haven't committed to this simply because it's not finalized. The testing we are doing isn't just for reliability/power, but also to see what components are must have's vs. optional.

Also, the manual generates more whp correct?

Thanks,
Brody
Yes, on the dyno it's showing more power at the wheel, both at the baseline and after the kit. We are simply looking at a slightly larger drivetrain percentage loss is all, and the difference will get smaller and smaller as the power goes up. If you look at the whp gains from baseline to stage 1 on the automatic charts, they were nearly identical in amount of gain.

I haven't blown out the clutch (yet) but certainly am making a good effort at it! Will be doing more testing (cough cough, drifting practice) this weekend at the elevated power levels. I have to allow that one reason my clutch is staying together is because it's Seattle. The rear end rarely has an opportunity to hook up when the pavement is either slightly wet or extremely wet.

Worth mentioning that Bob noted that oil temps remained very cool, his words "surprisingly cool." I am not sure I'll need a oil cooler yet, so I'll be monitoring oil temps as we bump up towards stage 2.

I just ordered an avo catch can and should be installed soon... I think you'll want one soon as you see it, very stealth.
