Thanks. I'll try that.

had mine replaced last week @6700 mi. Not a chirp yet, but I'm waiting for them to come back.
I only mentioned the noise and I guess there was a tsb so they ordered it. I didn't mind them really.

Don't feel so bad people,in Canada they deny the chirp exists.

These noises are due to alcohol mixed fuels and are inherent to Subarus based on what a Subaru master tech told me (mine was the first BRZ he serviced). I once had an occasional chirp but when I switched to 93 octane ethanol-free fuel, it went away.

From my understanding the TSB replaces the existing HPFP with the same HPFP, correct? Or do they re-install it a different way? My friend is on his 3rd HPFP (replaced twice) and the chirps eventually came back in each instance. He hasn't been using ethanol-free fuel so I believe it's all in the fuel.

My other friend conducted a test. He used 93 octane ethanol-free fuel and had no chirps. Then switched to 93 octane *with* ethanol and the chirp came back. Then switched back to ethanol-free 93 and the chirp was gone.

Yeah, ethanol free here in Texas is impossible from what I've seen. All gas stations have at least 10% ethanol in them. I'm going to research and see if I can find one that is ethanol free just to see about the chirp. I know this is one of the reasons the GT86 owners in other countries haven't had issues with this because they're ethanol free from what I read.

Its 1700 miles after the 4th fuel pump replacement and i only hear the cricket once in a while just for a minute or two when the engine is not fully warm up. Even when its there, I can only hear the cricket when I'm at 900-1000 RPM. . I'm very happy with my car as is now. Cricket, Please don't come back

Criminy! Four fuel pumps! You sir, have the patience of Job. I had my original pump replaced in the fall after taking delivery during the summer. My chirps returned within a few hundred miles. I've just been grinning and bearing it since (made easier by the winter and windows-up driving most of the time). I guess I'll wait until my next oil change and see about getting pump #3.

forgot to update, but i've noticed that it only makes the cricket noise on occasion. And from my scientific engineering genius background, it seems like the pump gets crickets when you switch fuel qualities, i.e from 1 station to another. example, after i gassed up at valero on premium it started making it for about 48 hrs. then it settled. then i gassed up at a murphys usa, and it started for a bit and then stopped.

Humm are u sure it's not after every fill up since that causes a change in pressure in the fuel tank.
