It's actually kind of nice, the car not being out.

There isn't a ton of buyer/seller drama waiting to be outsed and spill over to the entire community. It's nice and peaceful.:happy0180:

I've been wondering about whether or not Subaru and Scion might try to market their respective models to different segments of the tuner crowd. I've learned a bit about the way that Scion sells their cars here (although I don't claim to know much at all now), and it seems as if they'll be selling a well-equipped version right off the bat. Could Subaru, then, sell a base version (without A/C, radio, with steel wheels) for less than that?

I highly doubt we'll ever see a truly base model here in the US, but since their essentially the same car, this could be a good way for the companies to avoid overlapping sales too much. (Also, Scion wouldn't run the risk of having FR-S sales intrude on the sales of the less expensive tC and Subaru could offer a performance car for several thousand less than the base WRX).

I know this is all just the wishful thinking of one person, but something like this at least would make sense to me.

Its possible but even Subaru does not sell a car in the US that is as stripped at the sub base FT-86. But you never know they might.

Thanks for the compliment, I'm sure WoW will appreciate it too. I really hope that I can find someone who does a good job tinting or darkening the housings

If the US ends up getting the hideous altezzas then darkening the housings will be my first project for the car.

Is it pretty much a given that the Scion will come without stereo included?

^This.

I'm voting we sticky a guide to which brand goes where and details like that. I can't remember where to find that detail. It's usually passed along by word of mouth but I doubt it would be easy to find exactly where we learned about it for a fact.

Unless you feel like reading all of the magazines which as we known now are 90% crap.

All the rs 7 gives you is the trd body kit, start button, and different 18 inch rims.

Actually if you think about it...the high spec could be scion's standard FRS model and then there might be a FRS RS 1.0 model that has the body kit and 18 inch rims.

The low spec ft-86 is a pretty stripped car. We won't see it here. And the scion might have different tail lights...not clear
Push start standard!? On the 7.0 yes but not on the base tC.

I see a set of keys here...
