The Scion version will most likely look exactly like the Toyota version. It will just be called the FR-S, while the Toyota version will be called the Celica. (That's the going rumor right now for the name of the Toyota version) I hope they just call the Toyota version FT-86...but you know Toyota.

I think we will get info on all 3 versions at the Tokyo Motor Show.

We will probably get to see Scion at Detroit Auto Show or NY Auto Show.

Full official specs (and pics) of both the Toyota (and presumably the Scion) and Subaru versions, and hopefully pricing and drop dates.

Accessories are not options they are accessories

Since the FT-86 High Spec pretty much comes with everything but accessories (it don't even come with a radio) figure that this will be the model to be sold at the Scion dealer (it will come with the HIDs, Foglights, dual zone AC, aluminum pedals, start button, leather steering wheel, and upgraded seat trim and guages, and 17 inch rims.

A lot of people are looking for the cheapest model...the low spec...Scion's don't come stripped. Be prepared to pay for the Hi-Spec model...But if you look at it, the High-spec model really has what most people are gonna want in this car standard. Scion is not going to sell a $20k FR-S...that's too close to the price of the $19,300 2012 6 speed manual tC, which actually has more equipment than the High-Spec FT-86...(ie 18 inch rims, sunroof, radio, ect)...there is a Scion tC RS 7.0 that runs $21,600 that has a start button, better interior, and a TRD body kit and better rims. We could see Scion do this with the FR-S....but we already know that the rest of the world will have two trims....Low-spec and High-Spec.

Hopefully we will know the price in 15 days! But don't count on it...we might now know till the car is released in June 2012.

Just one little correction. Actually, Scions (at least the older gen tC) do come in the stripped version. However, they are really rare (because they don't make a lot of them) and are really meant for tuning companies and not regular consumers. They come with no rims, no el. windows, etc. So we might get something like this, but it probably won't be the first year.

Your right. I was quoting current 2012 models. But it would be cool if they did offer the strip down version for tuners..

Cool, thanks for the info. Maybe we'll get more details in 15 days, or if not maybe we'll get lucky and get some more leaks in the next couple of months if the spring release rumor is true.

Basically, I know Scion will be releasing a model in NA and Subaru will have the BRZ, but will Toyota also be releasing a stock model in the USA?

I like the look of the Toyota version so far, and I'm not sure if Scion will be releasing the leaked image version or will they make changes to it as they have to the other cars they've released here in the US.

This is probably answered somewhere in an obviously placed sticky post, but I'm new and still sorting things out.

Thanks!
Welcome Locomoco! Got me all hungry now!!

For NA and Canada, we'll get a Scion and Subaru next year. The rest of the world will get a Toyota (lucky bastards ) and Subaru.

Some of the stuff you mentioned, I doubt these will be standard, AL pedals, hid, push start. Those are all accessories on the tC and standard on the 7.0. I agree that it won't be stripped but I doubt it'll be a RS 7.0 equipped either.

It is tradition on all forums all over the world to wind up the newbys when they join to make them bite :happy0180:
To look for reaction And then it settles down after a few posts

The worst is when someone joins a forum and try's to sell something on its first few posts

Or pretends to have bought some wonderful product from a wonderful trader ( while it's really them

They are soon ousted out and fed to the crocodile

Wellcome to the forum now get some photos up of your car and tell us what spec you want to order and bRZ of ft86

Not true, you can't get hids, aluminum pedals and push button start on the 2012 tC, they are not available accessories. You do get the push button trd start button as standard equipment on the tC RS 7.0.

All the rs 7 gives you is the trd body kit, start button, and different 18 inch rims.

Actually if you think about it...the high spec could be scion's standard FRS model and then there might be a FRS RS 1.0 model that has the body kit and 18 inch rims.

The low spec ft-86 is a pretty stripped car. We won't see it here. And the scion might have different tail lights...not clear
