I'm bowing out of this pointless conversation. At some point, it becomes pointless to argue...especially with those who don't own the system, and prefer loud obnoxious exhausts. I've owned loud exhausts on my cars and bikes. Over time, it becomes less and less enjoyable...and more of a nuisance. Enjoy your exhausts. No hard feelings.

I don't know what exhaust configuration you have, but I have only the resonated cat back with stock everything else and I agree its very quiet. That being said...I usually drive like a grandma so @2forme's view may be skewed by the times he has ridden with me as I tend to drive very calmly, that's just my style. So that on top of having the quietest Perrin configuration means mine is probably quieter than most. It definitely pipes up though when you romp on it.

Little ol' ladies from Pasadena aside, heh, the catted front pipe and over pipe do add a some volume, and a lot of growl. I get nothing but compliments on how the car sounds.

Wellp..... I got the resonated catback installed today and could not be happier with the results.

Big thumbs up from my butt-dyno (that sounds really odd).

Love that it rumbles quietly at idle and is very smooth and subtle while cruising while letting out a nice growl when I romp on it.

When I add upgrade the rest of the exhaust I think I'll be very pleased.

The install was very easy and actually quite fun. My least favorite part was that I did not use a lift like I had planned and instead put the car up on jack stands.

Very high quality product from Perrin!

I've had the non-resonated Perrin CBE for some time now. Love the sound. I went with the non-resonated after a fellow forum member recommended it to me. Very happy that I went with the non than resonted after hearing the resonated version. Both are nice, so go with what you like. Plus if you change your mind later, you can swap it out with someone out there that changed their mind so it's not like it's a permanent.

I've been toying with pulling the trigger on Motiv's overpipe in the near future, but I'm not really sure if I should since I'll be keeping the factory front pipe w/ OEM cat. I live in CA, so don't want to mess with emissions regs. I'm also thinking of going back to my stock intake with a drop in, but that's another story all together.

I think if you pair the CBE with an overpipe and front pipe (w/ a cat) then you should be ok. It will be a little louder, but honestly, with my non-resonated if I take it easy on the go pedal it stays pretty tame. That's what's so great about it. I have control over how loud I want it to get. I have to roll down my window to hear my CBE. With my windows rolled up I can hardly hear the exhaust out back.

interesting... lol

yeah i plan on getting a catted front pipe. i have one person i can meet with at my local 86 club who has the resonated headerback perrin system with catted front pipe. it's difficult to decide because the exhausts quiet down over time due to carbon build up too, so the unresonated could potentially be toned down to a level of my liking. first world problems.

That's another thing. The system quiets down noticeably after the first month or so.

None whatsoever, and I know what drone is - I went from the GReddy Evo 3 to the Perrin non-resonated.

i'm doing this exact switch today to me the drone on the greddy wasn't THAT bad but it was definitely there. i'll report back. i'm also going to do the nameless catted/resonated front/overpipe with this non resonated perrin catback.
