im in CA and we only get 91 octane. more compression is uh, not going to play nice i think.

oh, i would like to add some sort of tuning module. somehting like AEM or greddy. piggyback i guess. something with a nice GUI for the average not so tech savvy guys (like me) to use.

its going to be interesting to see how the engine responds to aftermarket parts.
i feel like some sort of management would be implied with the itbs and i figure it might as well be expensive. it seems like a huge waste of money to buy itrbs and not have them professionally tuned. it kinda sucks because in todays market itbs just seem like a huge waste of money

The car doesn't even have an aluminum suspension...so we know the hood is aluminum and probably the trunk. Sure the car is about the size of a 370z so that helps too.

I say go for some good light weight forged rims. I wonder how much the stock rims weigh?
Not sure, but we will know soon. They wouldn't be that heavy because like you said, highest trim is just over 2700lb. I said CF hood and trunk because everyone said what I wanted to say already. LOL

According to the recent news, ecu will be flashable so tuning wont be such an issue :happy0180:

well i doubt that it will be flashable enough at least in america to control each itb since the car wont come with itbs. but then again i really dont know whats going on as far as the engine is concerned. 200 hp is enough for me. if not ill go forced induction for a fraction of the price and call it a day

The ecu wouldn't need to control each TB independently. You'd just attach the DBW motor to one of the throttle shafts and then connect the two shafts with a solid linkage. And if you don't feel the need to have open intake trumpets, you can fab up a new intake manifold and use the stock MAF. The issue is going to be getting a solid vacuum signal so that the ECU can calculate load.

that last route kinda seems like what the stock 20v toyota motors do. i just cant help but think like thats a lot of money spent for what? maybe like 15-20 hp. i guess i just dont know really

It's what all production cars with ITB's do.

They actually won't make you any power at all unless the stock intake manifold is a restriction at the RPMs you want to be running. And even if it is, it's cheaper/easier to get an aftermarket intake manifold and/or an oversized TB. The big benefit of ITBs is throttle response, though a lot of people like the sound they make with open trumpets, and some just like them because racecar.

But yeah, for a street car they're not worth it.

So like, my suspicions about engine update? Valvematic has zero lag since the air is at atmospheric pressure right up to the head...best possible response!

As for the LSx comment... I am fairly certain the engine WILL not fit.... but another one has been fitted, which you guys will see soon I think. *hint* This was a low-key bit of info passed to me by an insider. Can't say more.

I actually just got my hands on some Autodesk CFD software, going to start getting into it and see what I can do with it.
