" I'm sure that's a just a prototype manifold so it will look like crap.
I believe designers will do their job once engineering has been finished." I would think that if this was still in the engineering stages the manifold would be built using the 3D rapid protyping technology. They wouldn't cast until everything was finalized. |

For fitment, rapid prototyping rocks. With 3D models, fitment is less of an issue than it used to be.
This appears to be in the setup stages for field logging, so you'll need the structure and temperature capabilities. My guess is a small batch was sand cast to see whether the runner length and size needs to be changed. Then you'll see the "fully dressed" version. I generally like the design, with double-pulley + idler. The ratio looks comfortable, and lubrication is self-contained. Scion rep I spoke to a month ago said that the plan was to release a supercharger atleast for a limited time, but that it was too far out to even think about a time table. I'll check back in with him when I pick up my FR-S (eventually).

this supercharger is aimed to Scion's most expensive car in the line.
based on their "poor college student" target market I doubt it will cost and insane amount of money. I'm guessing $4k msrp plus installation fees. |

You mean the same thing the Scion branding was started for... to have a car that you could make unique and fun and your own style. But now people just want to associate them with trash, which is fine I like trash.

Little black dots on either side of the manifold = coolant ports for liquid-to-air intercooler?

Yay for TVS supercharger for our cars! TVS always seem to cost more from what I've seen so don't expect it to be as cheap as the sprintex/innovative supercharger. Probably $2k-ish more.

ITT we convey our excitement about the TRD supercharger through art. Really terrible art.
Friday's are awesome.
