Thanks for the assurance. Now quit forum surfing and go weld up my system. You guys are behind!

Sounds like the shop did something sketch :/
I've read that account. I'm sure it was an adjustment thing.

I didn't even see any clearance issues on my install, everything had plenty of space. Getting the tips lined up right took a few tries, but end result is good. I'm very surprised at the resonator not fitting at all, strange.

The issue of aerodynamics and the role of the stock muffler as a rear diffuser. There is proof that removing it causes significant rear lift. There is only one aftermarket company which has addressed this with an additional diffuser for their cat back kit, but with it their kit almost weighs as much as stock.

Now I would guess that the Perrin design is not as bad with creating rear lift as others because it retains the horizontal muffler in the near stock position but it is smaller and round vs. large oval and angled and taking up most of the space which I assume keeps the air traveling under it.

Comments on the Perrin design related to aero?
I was struggling with getting the nameless system because of this. I contacted nameless and they said they are working on a diffuser that will work with their existing axleback. Hopefully with the addition of the diffuser it will still come in with a net loss in weight.

So their is another company working on a solution for the aero problem.

LOVE the cold start. In my garage my wife ran down and opened the garage door because it sounded like my friends GT3 and she thought I had it for the weekend.

JUST DO IT !

Borla offers an add on diffuser, from what i recall the price of it is almost as much as some cat back systems.

Retail on the diffuser is $464, not as much as i thought i remembered seeing but still quite a bit.

Make sure if you buy perrin to get non-resonated. The resonated version on my buddies BRZ is barely discernible from stock. Way too quiet IMO.

Didn't realize it was that expensive. Isn't that double the price of the trd one that works with the jdm trd catback?

When I say quiet, I mean stock level quiet.

I mean, it doesn't make a ton of power. And if it sounds like stock... why upgrade at all? It would have been cheaper to add tips to the stock exhaust.

Solid points. It does make power, It doesn't sound like stock, sounds better at slightly elevated db's. Reduces a little bit of weight and has some snazzy looking tips.

But yeah..... bang for the buck isn't so much.

My buddy dynoed his and got 8 whp on both I/E. He has the resonated though, which really is stock like quietness. Still looks like a fine exhaust, if a little on the expensive end of things.
