Fit fine with a 3/4" baffle.
Didn't really care for the krx2s little harsh in the midrange. Earlier k2ps I had were much better.

yes, they fit perfectly.

yes, they are expensive, but they sound phenomenal!

Are those drivers 7.1" ? Did you manage to get them to fit?

just made my own baffles, used the stock speakers as a template.
worked great.

I know I'm doing a Lazarus number on this thread, but as it is listed as a resource, this needed to be addressed.

If I understand the setup correctly, there are passive crossovers for these speakers. That means the amp is only "seeing" them for a limited portion of the sound spectrum. I don't know what the actual points are, but for example, the mid might be seen from 500 to 4000 hertz and the tweeter from 4000 to 20000. Together they present a load from 500 to 20000. Unless there is an overlap between them, you don't add the loads together. This is because a capacitor is essentially an open circuit below its crossover point.
Think about it, when you buy a component set, it has two drivers of a particular impedance with a crossover and you don't add those together to get the rated ohms, do you?

Yes I over simplified the situation. I believe the impedance of tweeters are rated at ~5kHz and small mids are rated at ~1kHz. So yes your point is valid but you are over idealizing the situation. The simple RLC filter setup in our speakers will not produce a sharp impedance vs frequency response.

There are too many people on this site who have no clue that impedance changes with frequency and would take the original statement at face value.
I made the post because I was concerned that someone who didn't know better would read the original and mistakenly believe the H/U was intended to drive a 2 ohm load.
