Thats new to me. And the first time ever I hear of a oval muffler creating downforce on a car. Whats your source on that information?

It makes sense. It's uncommon on a car at this price range but Toyota and Subaru worked to ensure airflow beneath the car is smooth and if you look at any pics of the stock car up on a lift it is very apparently.

The issue of aerodynamics and the role of the stock muffler as a rear diffuser. There is proof that removing it causes significant rear lift. There is only one aftermarket company which has addressed this with an additional diffuser for their cat back kit, but with it their kit almost weighs as much as stock.

Now I would guess that the Perrin design is not as bad with creating rear lift as others because it retains the horizontal muffler in the near stock position but it is smaller and round vs. large oval and angled and taking up most of the space which I assume keeps the air traveling under it.

Comments on the Perrin design related to aero?
Your probably right. I would say most people will not notice this to much. I bought my exhaust purely for the sound and enjoyment.

Could be a matter of air resistance. But downforce?
I think its way more effect on the downforce if the car has the rear wing or not or replaced by any aftermarket wing. Just my 2...

Just did catback, front pipe and overpipe this last week, had Iishi in Bellevue install. I don't have a lift, so it was a no brainier. Looks great, Sounds great. I'm sure my MPG's will suffer due to my heavy foot now. What once felt a bit constipated, now feels great. Highly recommend. Great build quality.

I can't speak yet since mine isn't here yet but I'm willing to bet a lot of these owners could've paid 1100 for it and still be happy with their purchase.

Perrin was a close 2nd to the Nameless system I want. I think between both companies, you're getting pretty high quality parts.

There's a killer groupbuy going on in the Groupbuy section for the catback someone is running for $769 shipped I think. That's a great price for that system.

I was in the same boat. It came down to sound for me. The Nameless system is great and great value since it's an axleback only (didn't make any more power with a midpipe so they don't want to sell one to people). The resonator in the Perrin system is really what sold me. When I replace the rest of the system with Nameless or Perrin parts it won't be as loud.

There shouldn't be any problems with the fitment of our exhaust on your car. There is a lot of adjustment with the exhaust, so you shouldn't have any issues. If by chance there is a fitment issue, we will make it work! Rest assured we will take care of you!

My jaw just about dropped off my face when I read that guy's post- I've never heard of anybody having fitment issues like that. @F1point4 (the guy on here that did the DIY install thread http://www.ft86club.com/forums/showthread.php?t=19503) had a rattling issue from the mid-pipe due to thermal expansion of the pipe, but I prevented that by making sure I had a decent amount of clearance before I tightened the V-bands. Sounds like the shop did something sketch :/
