BRZ came by my shop for some work

A fellow BRZ owner came by to get some work done. Added a radar, backup camera and upgraded the speakers. Figured I would share the post I made of it with you guys if you feel like taking a gander at how it all came out and could give ideas if people are concidering a concealed radar system.

Not trying to spam, just figured i'd share. If this violates anything let me know and ill take it down.

Hmmmmmm. A stock back up cam. Did that require any splicing or is it a separate harness?

A number of cameras will work. It requires a couple pins to be added to the stock 16 pin harness. here's a pic of mine installed:

Nice. Where did you mount the radar receiver unit. Is it behind the lower edge of the bumper fascia?

Nice. It appears we have the same car :p.

How much did it cost you? Do you have a pin-out for adding those leads? Any suggestions for cameras? Were they just crimp on pins?

The pins slide in the OEM harness. This post has all the info you should need, look for info from svxdc.

I went with the Accele over the Rydeen Mini Duo because it's a lower profile/less obtrusive looking install. My post on page 4 or 5 of there has a link to crutchfield where i got it for ~$100ish.

Honestly, I work in the front of the shop, we have 6 installers in the back that do the work. I have no idea where the mounted the radar receiver but I believe it is somewhere behind the bumper on the lower portion. Similar to where xjohnx mounted his

I believe so. Here's a writeup on my install of the same system minus jammer heads (just Bel instead of escort), it has pictures of the radar sensor mounting.

How much was this whole process (back up cam + radar kit and install)? I would really consider this...

its not too bad, you can run the back up camera wires with the rear radar diffuser to save some time. If you know what you are doing with the radar install it would take 3-4 hours. More depending on level of inexperience.

lol no price quote? did the person come with the backup camera equipment or did you supply it? the shop near me wouldn't give me a price quote over the phone, said i had to bring it in and depends on hour(s) of work. wanted to just supply my own equipment and pay for the labor since i'm fairly new to this

Are the speakers running off the factory amp or did you install an aftermarket? What are you using as a cross over?
